Default episode 203 help

Hi,
I'm after starting episode 203 and it looks like there is a mandatory driving/shooting sequence. I'm running the game on a very under-powered laptop and there's no way i could hit 10 zombies, i've tried a few times and have yet to hit one. I don't want to read the walkthrough to find out if the game can be completed without doing this segment( not a fan of spoilers) but I'd like to know if this is for a decal or if it's a necessary puzzle.
Thanks.

Unfortunately you have to win that driving/shooting sequence once to get an item you need later in the game. - The level of difficulty should be very, very easy when you play that sequence for the first time, but I can imagine that this is a real challenge on a slow machine. I have also experienced that once for another game where the countdown speed was always the same on several PCs, while the speed of the game itself differed a lot. - Have you already tried to switch to the lowest possible resolution and detail level for that sequence?

What I've found is that for most of these mini-games, you can reduce the amount of challenge. For Night of the Raving Dead, I lost so many times that I only had to hit two zombies.

Related question, I didn't want to start a new thread:

I'm playing on a Mac, and in the driving game you need to right-click to shoot. I can't do it with my silly Apple mouse. Is there any keyboard command I can use instead? Or do I need to get a different mouse?

Try using spacebar. I haven't done it in a while, but I'm pretty sure if the movement can be done with the keyboard then shooting should be the same.

The game doesn't recognize a control-click as a right-click like most Mac programs and I couldn't find any key on my keyboard that would fire the CDs. So I don't think there's any way to get it to work without a two-button mouse.

@BoneFreak - spacebar pauses the game.

I just discovered that my mouse CAN right-click if I adjust the settings. We're cool, Apple.
