Default Pre-Ordered All 5 ToMI Episodes Through Steam: Can I get the DVD free?

In my Tell Tale account profile it's not listing all my Tell Tale games i pre-purchased using the Steam Store. This includes not only all 5 episodes of the Tales but also the original 6 episodes of Sam & Max.
I'm very much aware that Tell Tale is a separate company, but none the less besides using Steam as my purchase medium I did Pre-Order the 5 episodes.

So is there some way I can get this all resolved so I can get my free DVD copy? I just want to be able to own a physical copy now so I'll always have it.

As a side note: If Tell Tale is still getting the Money I don't see a reason why the Steam-Store users should be punished for not buying the games from their web-site vs. Valves Store. I use steam for almost everything video-game related now. It's very unfair to people like me who really didn't even know there would be ramifications and just see's the steam store as a convenient means of purchasing titles from all over the internet.

No if you want the DVD you have to buy from Telltale.... Its no different from other companies with games on steam... its not Telltales fault.

But I DID buy from Tell Tale THROUGH Steam...That's the point I'm making. I may have bought their game through a Non-Tell Tale Medium but it's still Tell Tales Game and I STILL Pre-Ordered it. So why are the people who used steam being discriminated against? (see also: my last paragraph of my original post)

You are not eligible for the free DVD unless you bought it through telltale, from the TTG store.

It's not discrimination, it's sort of like the bonuses that Gamestop does when you pre-order a game from them. It's along those same lines.

What about the fact that I pre-purchased Poker Night at the Inventory for all the Vavle-based items? How is that not a double standard? Tell Tale is Advertising that on THEIR WEBSITES...and yet Poker-Night isn't going to be added to my TellTale games list when it comes out, despite the fact it's their game and i bought it from them THROUGH steam...

This is a very wrong double-standard.

This isn't even really about the DVD anymore. It's about TellTale not recognizing purchases made from a non-TellTale source.

if there went to check who had there games on steam it would be hard to do, they have to ask VAVLE to look because steam was made by VAVLE.

Why do you want it on your Telltale list?

I think Steam charges us some type of fee when they sell a game of ours. So its not the same. If we paid Steam and sent you a free disc we might lose money.

Plus I don't have a way to verify a Steam purchase.

You cant buy a game off steam and just march into bestbuy and demand a physical copy.... I really do not see the difference..... Steam runs their own show... the DVD is a perk for buying directly from the source.

Forget it. Thanks for the responses, be they positive or negative.. But I'm just done... I don't think me ranting about this anymore is going to make much of a differance anyway.

To the Mod who posted: Thank you too for noticing. I just felt bad that your website kept telling me I didn't buy the games when I did buy them, just not from here. I guess somehow it just rubbed me the wrong way.

2nd post part: I can understand that Giving away a DVD might loose you guys money. I guess it was just my own fault for not reading the information on your monkey island page right.
To be fair though...your FAQ is mis-leading:
Quote:
You're in luck! As we do with all of our episodic series, we'll put Tales of Monkey Island on a disc after all five episodes have been distributed digitally. This Collector's DVD will be available to season customers for just the cost of shipping. So you get the best of both worlds: instant access to each monthly episode as it releases AND a physical copy to hold onto for posterity.
-----------
When the free DVD is available for ordering we'll send an email to all Tales of Monkey Island customers letting you know it's time to come back and get it. You will enter your shipping address and pay for shipping at that time.
You don't mention anywhere in there that the game has to be distributed by your site digitally. That's why I was very upset when it came time to check the DVD. Sorry for all this mess. :\

I can see if you were confused if Steam's site said you would be getting a DVD.... If you read that on TTG's site why didn't you just order with them?

Steam never advertised a DVD. I made a very bad assumption from mis-reading their FAQ. specifically these parts here:

"As we do with all of our episodic series, we'll put Tales of Monkey Island on a disc after all five episodes have been distributed digitally."

and

"When the free DVD is available for ordering we'll send an email to all Tales of Monkey Island customers"

I assumed when they mentioned All customers that that included people who pre-ordered using steam. It was a very bad assumption. And since I didn't bother to dig deeper I payed the price now.

Well, you score points in my book for being so honest and not blaming others. Good luck with this.
