The only Star Wars movie that Lucas should release at this point is a line-for-line remake of "Star War: The Backstroke Of The West". I'd give my leg to see those lines acted out.

I think the battles in Star Wars became tiresome.. Machines fighting machines.. .. Any one will milk a product as much as they can. If they feel they make make more than the outlay they will go for it .. Thats business.. As for 3D.. Its kinda expensive here in South Africa and I personally dont think its worth it.. Nothing Grand.. Interactive Movies thats another idea

Well I doubt there is anyway they can make a hologram of a movie from 1977 no matter how updated it is, at least not in our lifetimes. I think Lucas maybe is going to do the 3d blue ray thing all at the same time.

Wow, Star Wars in 3-D?! I would never have thought of that! George Lucas is a true visionary!

After watching a couple of 3D films i think that 3D won't help the cinemas in the long run because the effect washes out very quickly and it's still annoying dealing with those glasses due to many reasons. So the next step would be 3D without glasses but in the end it's really not the 3D aspect you care about in a movie. 2D works pretty fine as well, as long as the movie is good.

But 3D will also work if the movie isn't good. Like Avatar.

Only in the beginning or for milestones dealing with the technology in a special way. The rest won't benefit from it.

The film industry could make a lot more money establishing a fair and working online distribution. Although they could watch the film industry shipwrecking, they haven't learned from this at all. It's way easier and more comfortable for many people downloading some Blu-Ray rips from the usual supects instead of trying to get a film via a legal download platform in a reasonable way. Either they try to milk you, annoy you with DRM, are way too late or the quality isn't convincing.

That's where you can make a lot of money but they somehow aren't interested in making it.

George figured out another way to make more money off the same movies? Sounds far fetched....

To be fair, the Special Editions are HARDLY the same movies that were shown in the original 70s/80s theatrical run.

I won't be paying this time around. Considering George has made it clear that the original theatrical cut won't be on the Blu-Rays, it's pretty safe to assume that a further "remastered" and "recut" trilogy awaits in eyestrain-inducing 3D. Can't say I'm all that excited to line up and buy. =/

3-D kinda sucks.

Sadly enough it's night impossible now to find a movie to watch in cinema without it these days.

I just had to wonder why pilots in Star Wars never listen to music, i mean space and music!

On a second thought i think i wouldn't like to listen to those tunes, most probably it wouldn't be music?!

What do you mean? Even if every movie was shot and presented in 3D, damn near every single one also runs in 2D concurrently. Also, I pretty rarely have movies that I want to see end up being in 3D. Then again, I also rarely have movies that I want to see end up in the mainstream megaplex theater set.

Nope. Never even been there. As far as I know, it's a place made up by the guys who make maps because they're paid per country charted or something.

I thought Michael Bay was finally respectable when he said 3D was just a fad.

And then he changed his mind...

You're talking about this as though it were just recently announced, but in fact Lucas and his team have been working on converting the films to 3D for a number of years actually. Like, before the 3D trend even started making a comeback.
