I don't have any gamepad connected and ESC key works just fine for me,but there is no SAVE GAME button.
There are only these buttons: Quote:

there's no save and load here when I press esc, only return to game, new game, help and settings and quit, what a heck?

If some1 could upload their savegame when marty is already in 1931,then maybe the button could appear.

I need it also.
I dont have save button in the mainmenu so if I had one savegame maybe it would enable that feature also. |

Unfortunately I don't have save games from that point, but my question is why you need one for that point. How do you "lose" your game at any point?

i think i can answer that.
"becoz there wasnt any SAVE MENU in the game" when i click ESC, i too only see Back to the Future the Game--> Resume Game New Game Help and Settings Quit Game where is the hidden save menu? |

That's wierd ... I didn't lose my data that way ... I accidently closed the game window while marty and doc were talking together ... So there was no time for the game to auto save
