Case #1: Burning For You

here is a full step by step walkthrough written by my friend jhonster over at csigamer....

Note: You can view all reconstructions again during the case by clicking the options menu, then clicking view Stats and Bonus Items, and finally clicking on Movies.

Click on Locations.
Go to Alley: Crime Scene
Click on back of the taxicab.
Use the Digital SLR Camera to take a photo of the crime scene.
Evidence: Photo of Crime Scene
Click on front window of the taxicab.
Use the Digital SLR Camera to take a photo of the victim.
Evidence: Photo of Burnt Cabby
Reconstruction: Flash Fire?
Click on the footprint beside the taxicab, near where you took a photo of the crime scene.
Use tweezers to collect the Red Plastic inside the footprint.
Evidence: Red Plastic
Use Casting Plaster and Frame to make a cast of the footprint.
Evidence: Footprint from Crime Scene
Click on the dumpster.
Click on the top of the dumpster.
Click on the right side dumpster lid to open it.
Collect insect from empty pizza box inside the dumpster.
Insects: 1 of 5
Click on the gas can beside the dumpster.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect the gas can.
Evidence: Gas Can from Crime Scene
Click on the bushes on the right hand side of the cement doorstep.
Click on the paper right next to the doorstep.
Thoroughness Point: 1 of 18
Click on the door.
Thoroughness Point: 2 of 18
Click on turpentine can by the fence.
Use the latex gloves to collect the turpentine can.
Evidence: Turpentine Can from Crime Scene
Don't turn the turpentine can, click on the fingerprint on the turpentine can.
Use the fingerprint brush and powder on the fingerprint.
Use the Adhesive Lifting Tape on the fingerprint to collect it.
Evidence: Fingerprint from Turpentine Can
Click on sewer grate on the ground to the left of where you collected the turpentine can.
Thoroughness Point: 3 of 18
Click on the cloth on the open wire fence door that is broken.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect the cloth.
Evidence: Blue Jean Cloth
Reconstruction: Jeans Ripped on Fence?
Don't turn the Blue Jean Cloth, click on the flake of skin on the Blue Jean Cloth.
Use the Tweezers to collect the skin flake.
Evidence: Flake From Blue Jean Cloth
Location Searched

Click on Locations.
Go to Mobile Lab
Click on the Trace Analysis Computer.
Click on the screen.
Click on Fingerprints.
Click on Comparison A.
Click on the Fingerprint from Turpentine Can.
Click on Comparison B.
Click on LVPD Records.
Click on Search Result B.
Drag Fingerprint from Turpentine Can into Quadrant 2 on the Top Right.
Click confirm match.
Get rap sheet for Edsel Danville.

Click on the victim's shirt on the side table.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect the shirt.

Ask: "What about items in the pants? Wallet?"

Click on Locations.

Click on Locations.
Go to Abandoned Mini Golf Course.
Click on red circular putting green area.
Thoroughness Point: 4 of 18
Click on overturned golf course marker on grass.

Click on Ed Danville.
Say: "We'd like to ask you a few questions. Is your name Edsel Danville?"
Say: "You do realize you're trespassing?"
Ask: "Are you aware that you look like exactly like an Ed Danville who has a police record?"
You will then automatically go to the interrogation room.

Interrogation Room
Click on Ed Danville.
Say: "Let's try this one more time. Are you Edsel Danville?"
Ask: "How did your fingerprints turn up on a can of turpentine that was used to set a cabby on fire?"
Say: "Art project?"
Ask: "Do they have names?"
New Suspect: Liz Sunderland
New Suspect: Debra Finch
Ask: "So Mr. Danville, where were you between 9 and 10 last night?"
Ask: "Did anyone see you at the 'Windmill Suite?'"
Say: "One more question. Do you own a pair of athletic shoes?"

Click on Locations.
Go to Tribal Leader House.
Click on Debra Finch.
Ask: "Do you know an Edsel Danville?"
Ask: "Maybe an Ed Freeborn?"
Say: "Mr. Freeborn claims he was working for you on art project - is that right?"
Ask: "Did you say we could take a flyer?"
Click on the flyer on the fridge.
Use Latex Gloves to collect the flyer.
Evidence: Debra's Flyer
Click again on Debra Finch.
Ask: "Any idea how one of your flyers got into the pocket of a dead cabby last night?"
Say: "Yes. Someone burned him alive."
Say: "That's all for now. Can you tell us where to find Liz Sunderland?"

Click on Locations.
Go to Fire Temple.
Click on Liz Sunderland.
Say: "This has nothing to do with your neighbors. Is this your Fire Temple?"
Ask: "Were? But you aren't now?"
Ask: "Did you know an Edsel Danville, possibly under the name Ed Freeborn?"
Ask: "Why is that?"
Say: "But you do use turpentine in your work?"
Ask: "Did you know Bob Castner?"
Say: "He's dead. He's the murder victim."
Ask: "Where were you between 9 and 10 last night?"
Ask: "Did anyone see you walking?"
Brass will then call your PDA and tell you that Sara's in the garage, she told him to tell you that the cab's ready to go.
Click on the small step ladders.
Thoroughness Point: 6 of 18
Click on the burned fence section.
Thoroughness Point: 7 of 18
Click on the metal net that's part of the statue of Brigit the Fire Goddess.
Collect the insect on the metal net.
Insects: 2 of 5
Click on Liz Sunderland again.
Ask: "What's in the room behind the Fire Temple?"
Ask: "Mind if we take a look inside?"
Say: "A can of your turpentine with Ed's prints on it was at the crime scene."

Click on Locations.
Go to Tribal Leader House.
Click on Debra Finch.
Ask: "Is it true that Bob Castner was harassing you?"
Ask: "What did he have against you?"
Ask: "Did you file a complaint against Castner?"

Click on Locations.
Go to Garage.
Sara will you meet you and Nick at the Garage, and stay to watch you work.
Click on the front floor of the cab.
Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the match book in the center of the dark floor area.
Use Latex Gloves to collect the matchbook.
Evidence: Matchbook from Cab
Click on the fingerprint on the top front part of the matchbook, don't turn the matchbook.
Use the Ninhydrin on the fingerprint to collect it.
Evidence: Fingerprint from Matchbook
Click on the GPS device on the dashboard of the car.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect it.
Evidence: GPS Device
Click on back floor of cab.
Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the used match in center of the dark floor area.
Use the Tweezers to collect the match.
Evidence: Used Match from Cab
Turn the used match, one full turn, so the other side of the wood on the used match is showing.
Use the Ninhydrin on the print to collect it.
Evidence: Partial Print on Used Match
Click on the seat that's been removed from the cab, it's to the left of Sara.
Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the lighter in the center of the dark area on the seat.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect the lighter.
Evidence: Lighter from Cab
Don't turn the lighter, click on the fingerprint that's on the lighter.
Use the Fingerprint Brush and Powder on the print.
Use the Adhesive Lifting Tape to collect the print.
Evidence: Fingerprint from Lighter
Click on the car door on the left side near the back of the cab and garage.
Click the paper in the pouch of the car door.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect it.
Evidence: Bank Receipt

Click on open window of the windmill to enter Ed's Suite.
Click on the red bucket to the right of the suite.
Thoroughness Point: 17 of 18
Click on the bed to move it aside and a golf hole is revealed in the floor.
Push the left golf ball into the hole.
Go down the red putting green ramp.
Click on the pipe in the windmill's hole and look in.
Click the golf hole in the ground beside Nick and in front of you.
Thoroughness Point: 18 of 18
Click on the horse saddle.
Collect the insect.
Insects: 5 of 5
Go back into Ed's Windmill Suite.
Put the last golf ball that's on the right into the hole and money will drop out of the windmill pipe onto the floor.
Go back down the ramp.
Click on the money rolled up with an elastic band.
Use the Latex Gloves to collect it.
Evidence: Roll of Money
Click on the hair caught in the elastic band.
Use the Tweezers to collect it.
Evidence: Hair from Roll of Cash

hi all!
it seems like the window of the windmill isnt opend... and i cant open it. about which of the three windows are we talking anyway? i'm stuck.... when i click on the green arrow that shows to the windmill theres just nothing. i cant click on anything when i stand right before the lower window of the windmill.
i hope somebody can help me out.

I am having the same trouble as TMNT i cant get into the windmill. When I go to speak to Brass to get a warrant for the windmill i can only say two things to him one is can i talk to a suspect again and the other is i have no more questions for you so how do i get the warrant ???

I've tried speaking to all suspects again and all they say is thats all im saying for now. i'm pretty sure i've analysed all my evidence as well. i've been to every location and through all my evidence i dont know how many times trying to find something i've missed !

Hmmm... What was the last thing you did? Have you gotten the GPS device from the dashboard? Have you found the poncho? Is everyone in the interrogation room, or is anyone still in the regular world? Are there any hints available? (Sometimes you don't need to ask the full hint question to get a clue as to where to look.....

Im stuck! I have everbody in the interrogation room, i have gotten the arrest warrant for Ed, i have asked all the questions to everybody and there are no more hints, i have checked all my evidence, all the locations are also checked... after asking Ed all the questions after getting the arrest warrant, what do i do? Im stuck..

Can anybody help me please?

pls help im pretty much all done but im stuck i know what i did wrong but thats the thing im still stuck: with th used condom i only swabbed the outside and know i know i need to swab the inside for Ed's dna to finish the case (pretty much) but the condom aint in my evidence or at the fire temple and everyone else is saying there done with me or they aint got anything new.

Note: You can view all reconstructions again during the case by clicking the options menu, then clicking view Stats and Bonus Items, and finally clicking on Movies. Click on Locations. Go to Alley: Crime Scene Click on back of the taxicab. Use the Digital SLR Camera to take a photo of the crime scene. Evidence: Photo of Crime Scene Click on front window of the taxicab. Use the Digital SLR Camera to take a photo of the victim. Evidence: Photo of Burnt Cabby Reconstruction: Flash Fire? Click on the footprint beside the taxicab, near where you took a photo of the crime scene. Use tweezers to collect the Red Plastic inside the footprint. Evidence: Red Plastic Use Casting Plaster and Frame to make a cast of the footprint. Evidence: Footprint from Crime Scene Click on the dumpster. Click on the top of the dumpster. Click on the right side dumpster lid to open it. Collect insect from empty pizza box inside the dumpster. Insects: 1 of 5 Click on the gas can beside the dumpster. Use the Latex Gloves to collect the gas can. Evidence: Gas Can from Crime Scene Click on the bushes on the right hand side of the cement doorstep. Click on the paper right next to the doorstep. Thoroughness Point: 1 of 18 Click on the door. Thoroughness Point: 2 of 18 Click on turpentine can by the fence. Use the latex gloves to collect the turpentine can. Evidence: Turpentine Can from Crime Scene Don't turn the turpentine can, click on the fingerprint on the turpentine can. Use the fingerprint brush and powder on the fingerprint. Use the Adhesive Lifting Tape on the fingerprint to collect it. Evidence: Fingerprint from Turpentine Can Click on sewer grate on the ground to the left of where you collected the turpentine can. Thoroughness Point: 3 of 18 Click on the cloth on the open wire fence door that is broken. Use the Latex Gloves to collect the cloth. Evidence: Blue Jean Cloth Reconstruction: Jeans Ripped on Fence? Don't turn the Blue Jean Cloth, click on the flake of skin on the Blue Jean Cloth. Use the Tweezers to collect the skin flake. Evidence: Flake From Blue Jean Cloth Location Searched Click on Locations. Go to Mobile Lab Click on the Trace Analysis Computer. Click on the screen. Click on Fingerprints. Click on Comparison A. Click on the Fingerprint from Turpentine Can. Click on Comparison B. Click on LVPD Records. Click on Search Result B. Drag Fingerprint from Turpentine Can into Quadrant 2 on the Top Right. Click on the Chemical Analysis Computer. Click on the screen. Click on Evidence. Click on the Gas Can from Crime Scene. Click on Analyze Item. Click on Evidence for the second time. Click on the Turpentine Can from Crime Scene. Click Analyze Item. Click on Evidence for the third time. Click on the Blue Jean Cloth. Click Analyze Item. Click on Locations. Go to Lab. Update on Case with Sara Sidle. Click on Locations. Go to Morgue. Click on Al Robbins. Ask: "Can you recover the victim's body for us?" Click on the victim's chest. Click on it again. Use the Latex Gloves to collect the shirt. Evidence: Cab Driver's Shirt Use the Latex Gloves to collect the paper in the shirt pocket. Evidence: Burnt Flyer Click on Al Robbins. Ask: "What about items in the pants? Wallet?" Click on Locations. Go to Lab. Click on the Trace Analysis Computer. Click on the screen. Click on Fingerprints. Click on Comparison A. Click on Brass. Ask: "Do we have info on Edsel Danville's current whereabouts?" Ask: "Has the cab been transported to the garage yet?" Ask: "Can you locate any old miniature golf courses that used red putting greens?" Ask: "Can I get a warrant?" Ask: "Ed Danville?" Ask: "Can we get a suspect warrant to bring in Edsel Danville, if we can find him?" Ask: "Any luck finding our miniature golf course?" Click on Locations. Go to Abandoned Mini Golf Course. Click on red circular putting green area. Thoroughness Point: 4 of 18 Click on overturned golf course marker on grass. Thoroughness Point: 5 of 18 Click on Ed Danville. Say: "We'd like to ask you a few questions. Is your name Edsel Danville?" Say: "You do realize you're trespassing?" Ask: "Are you aware that you look like exactly like an Ed Danville who has a police record?" You will then automatically go to the interrogation room. Interrogation Room Click on Ed Danville. Say: "Let's try this one more time. Are you Edsel Danville?" Ask: "How did your fingerprints turn up on a can of turpentine that was used to set a cabby on fire?" Say: "Art project?" Ask: "Do they have names?" New Suspect: Liz Sunderland New Suspect: Debra Finch Ask: "So Mr. Danville, where were you between 9 and 10 last night?" Ask: "Did anyone see you at the 'Windmill Suite?'" Say: "One more question. Do you own a pair of athletic shoes?" Click on Locations. Go to Tribal Leader House. Click on Debra Finch. Ask: "Do you know an Edsel Danville?" Ask: "Maybe an Ed Freeborn?" Say: "Mr. Freeborn claims he was working for you on art project - is that right?" Ask: "Did you say we could take a flyer?" Click on the flyer on the fridge. Use Latex Gloves to collect the flyer. Evidence: Debra's Flyer Click again on Debra Finch. Ask: "Any idea how one of your flyers got into the pocket of a dead cabby last night?" Say: "Yes. Someone burned him alive." Say: "That's all for now. Can you tell us where to find Liz Sunderland?" Click on Locations. Go to Fire Temple. Click on Liz Sunderland. Say: "This has nothing to do with your neighbors. Is this your Fire Temple?" Ask: "Were? But you aren't now?" Ask: "Did you know an Edsel Danville, possibly under the name Ed Freeborn?" Ask: "Why is that?" Say: "But you do use turpentine in your work?" Ask: "Did you know Bob Castner?" Say: "He's dead. He's the murder victim." Ask: "Where were you between 9 and 10 last night?" Ask: "Did anyone see you walking?" Brass will then call your PDA and tell you that Sara's in the garage, she told him to tell you that the cab's ready to go. Click on the small step ladders. Thoroughness Point: 6 of 18 Click on the burned fence section. Thoroughness Point: 7 of 18 Click on the metal net that's part of the statue of Brigit the Fire Goddess. Collect the insect on the metal net. Insects: 2 of 5 Click on Liz Sunderland again. Ask: "What's in the room behind the Fire Temple?" Ask: "Mind if we take a look inside?" Say: "A can of your turpentine with Ed's prints on it was at the crime scene." Click on Locations. Go to Tribal Leader House. Click on Debra Finch. Ask: "Is it true that Bob Castner was harassing you?" Ask: "What did he have against you?" Ask: "Did you file a complaint against Castner?" Click on Locations. Go to Garage. Sara will you meet you and Nick at the Garage, and stay to watch you work. Click on the front floor of the cab. Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the match book in the center of the dark floor area. Use Latex Gloves to collect the matchbook. Evidence: Matchbook from Cab Click on the fingerprint on the top front part of the matchbook, don't turn the matchbook. Use the Ninhydrin on the fingerprint to collect it. Evidence: Fingerprint from Matchbook Click on the GPS device on the dashboard of the car. Use the Latex Gloves to collect it. Evidence: GPS Device Click on back floor of cab. Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the used match in center of the dark floor area. Use the Tweezers to collect the match. Evidence: Used Match from Cab Turn the used match, one full turn, so the other side of the wood on the used match is showing. Use the Ninhydrin on the print to collect it. Evidence: Partial Print on Used Match Click on the seat that's been removed from the cab, it's to the left of Sara. Use the High-Powered Flashlight to locate the lighter in the center of the dark area on the seat. Use the Latex Gloves to collect the lighter. Evidence: Lighter from Cab Don't turn the lighter, click on the fingerprint that's on the lighter. Use the Fingerprint Brush and Powder on the print. Use the Adhesive Lifting Tape to collect the print. Evidence: Fingerprint from Lighter Click on the car door on the left side near the back of the cab and garage. Click the paper in the pouch of the car door. Use the Latex Gloves to collect it. Evidence: Bank Receipt Collect the insect on the car door on the right side near the back of the cab and garage. littlenicola87 Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 2	I've tried speaking to all suspects again and all they say is thats all im saying for now. i'm pretty sure i've analysed all my evidence as well. i've been to every location and through all my evidence i dont know how many times trying to find something i've missed !

Is everyone in the interrogation room, or is anyone still in the regular world? Are there any hints available? (Sometimes you don't need to ask the full hint question to get a clue as to where to look..... Hope this gets solved for you.

I have everbody in the interrogation room, i have gotten the arrest warrant for Ed, i have asked all the questions to everybody and there are no more hints, i have checked all my evidence, all the locations are also checked... after asking Ed all the questions after getting the arrest warrant, what do i do? Im stuck.. Can anybody help me please?

Stuman28 Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 1	pls help im pretty much all done but im stuck i know what i did wrong but thats the thing im still stuck: with th used condom i only swabbed the outside and know i know i need to swab the inside for Ed's dna to finish the case (pretty much) but the condom aint in my evidence or at the fire temple and everyone else is saying there done with me or they aint got anything new.
