Default Whoa, pretty error

Not exactly looking for support here. This error doesn't bug me, in fact, I think it's kinda pretty. (Hence why I'm posting it in this forum rather than the support one. Few interesting conversations occur in there!) I was replaying Abe Lincoln Must Die for kicks, and I went to talk to Hugh Bliss a 2nd time, and look what my conversation options are!

Bogus, eh? Anyone else seen something similar?

Wacky. What version of the game are you playing? (is it in a crazy foreign language?)

Odd. Are you playing in low graphics mode? Everything looks really jagged.

English version, and I have it set to 800 x 600 with Anti-aliasing turned off (low quality graphics mode). I've got some other interesting glitches that pop up graphically that I'd like to show you, once I manage to upload more of them as I find them...

Here's one now!

Note how the glass for the office door is suddenly all... weird. This is one of a couple errors I've noticed where vertexes in models somehow get out of place. It most often happens with Max's model, making it so when he walks around the room, large chunks of white polygons stick out from his fuzzy body. 9 times out of 10, leaving the room and returning will fix it, though it's not helping with the office door.

I used to have a similar problem with source games, actually. Ended up getting a new video card, but I'm sure it was a software thing, because the guy who took that card has no problems.

A long time ago, i had that kind of issue on my Radeon 9800pro, it was an overheating problem on some rare games (among which Far Cry), because that s memory corruption.
When game reload data into memory the info gets fresh again, but the memory retency was slowly degrading with heat and It became worse and worse as time went by (tons of polygons pointing toward the center of the space appearing, garbage on some textures, wrong textures ...).
I gave the card to my syster who had no problem whatsoever because her PC tower is better ventilated than mine (a giant fan -18 inches- blows into it).

not saying that it s your case, but if things become worse that could be something worth investigating (too much dust in your memory heat sinks perhaps)

The Hot Weenie (tm) machine is now the latest victim of the Wandering Vertices conspiracy!

Yup, overheat.... I remember the times I run Civ 4 with my old Nvidia MX4 card and *no* real fan.
The image of the flying polygons still haunts my mind....

Ah, these screenshots remind me of when my video card's fan and heatsink failed in the middle of playing Half-Life 2. Special memories.

try not to use .BMP, PNG or TGA files when posting on the internet... stick to JPG, 750kb for a small image is quite unefficient.

PNG is actually quite nice for non-fullcolor images or when you need alpha channels.

Woah! This happened with my xbox 360 once actually. It became incredibly annoying and the foreign staff on the support line really didn't help. Thank god it's all over now though.

I've got some more of these errors cropping up in Reality 2.0. I already played through the game in full-screen mode with no problems, but in windowed mode, pop-up text, subtitles and dialogue options occasionally vanish. But when I return to full-screen mode, the errors cease. I wonder what's causing it. I should become a Telltale playtester!
