Default Monkey Island Survery for free Wiiware games

I completed the survey last week and entered the required Wii friend code provided. Today I received an email requesting me to change the friend code as the one provided in the survey was no longer correct. I just wanted to verify here that the email was legitimate before I changed it. Any help from support would be appreciated. Thanks. (I have attached a copy of the email I received below).

Hello,

Earlier this week I sent you this email and, as I have not had any responses, and do not show that anyone has registered me on their Wii Friends List, I thought I’d send it again. It’s a very limited time offer and I would love for you to be able to take advantage of the Gifted Tales of Monkey Island Episodes. Please note that Nintendo requires that you add me to your Wii Friends List before I can send you any messages or gifts. Again, the Telltale Games Wii Friend Code to add is 1096 1858 6135 7389.

Subject: FW: ACTION REQUIRED: Free WiiWare Tales of Monkey Island Ch 4 & 5

Greetings - Thank you for completing our survey. Your free WiiWare games "Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 4 and 5" will be sent to you shortly.

NOTE: we cannot send you your game if you have not completed this step.

If you have added the friend code (6907 3429 4888 4166) to your Wii's address book, please CHANGE the Wii Friend code for Telltale Games 1096 1858 6135 7389, as it is from this NEW friend # that the games will be sent.

If you're having trouble, detailed instructions are included below.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to add our Friend Code:
Step 1. Select the Wii Message Board icon. It's located in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and looks like an envelope.
Step 2. Select the Address Book.
Step 3. Select the Register button. It's located on the lower right-hand corner.
Step 4. Select Wii.
Step 5. Type in our Friend Code: 1096 1858 6135 7389. Double-check that you've entered the Wii number correctly, then select OK.
Step 6. Choose a nickname for us. Give us whatever name you'd like, doesn't matter.
You're all done!

This promo is only for participants in the U.S. who have Wii's connected to the internet.

Best,

Heather Shields

It sound legitamate. Afterall what would someone have to gain by getting you to add their friendcode? Especially seeing as they would have to of hacked into the survey database to know you did it, what the prize was and you e-mail!

I filled out a similar survey for a free TMI episode like 6 months ago. Never ever saw it.

I've received WiiWare episodes from Telltale's surveys. It's legitimate.

How wonderful for you. I never ever got the episode, though.

I know it seems silly, but some of the wording seemed dubious to me. I am not that familiar with the Wii so I thought I would rather be safe than sorry. Glad you guys all think it's legit. Thanks for the input.
