The main difficulty up until now has been coming up with a game idea that doesn't have a shooter element seeing as The Doctor blasting aliens left and right with guns is completely out of character.
How about, and this might be a crazy idea, that you control the caracter in a story telling, but not overly action oriented gameplay, getting confronted with puzzles which you have to solve in a crazy but mostly non-violent way!
Hahaha sorry the crazy pills they gave me are making me write stupid gameplay ideas

You and your controversial ideas are not welcome here! Burn the Heathen!

But seriously, given that they said they have given deep though to the gameplay type, i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't dissimilair to a P'n'C adventure.

I think it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing a Doctor Who adventure game without meaningless violence. But since its coming for the Wii, we maybe should worry about the meaningless waggle issue.

Let’s all pray for that BBC and Nintendo have chosen a creative and competent development team that won’t let the game turn into a mini-game filled waggle fest. Because I think the Wii is great for traditional adventure games, but many lazy developers just give up on the controls and fill them with too much stupid waggle. In fact you can on the Wii spot the competence of a developing team by their waggle factor: Meaningless waggle = lazy developer, Innovative waggle = Competent developer. Of course, time and money is also a great factor which should not be overlooked.

So, let’s for this in the new Doctor Who game: Creative and competent development team, Story and dialogue written by show writers, And voice cast from the actors of show.

I'm feeling an overwhelming sense of Deja-Vu here.

Thanks for the info, but you aren't on Gallifreybase by any chance are you?

The team normally doesn't chime in on properties we wish we could work on, as not to set up unfair expectations. But speaking as a fan who just got started in the show this year I would make the HELL out of that trailer

And with the actual writers from the show. The existing adventure game series benefited from that. In fact, it's practically the only selling point to the games, other then the fact they're not awful.

Telltale, take note of the amount of interest this game would generate. This guy used up his first (and as of posting, only) post to say how much he'd like a game. And on that note, welcome.

But yeah, it would be fantastic if you guys would make such a game. You're the best people for it. Unfortunately, as the BBC have already given the license to a company making a series of adventure games, it's unlikely. Plus, the BBC would probably like them to be free to UK tax payers, which TTG's head honcho's wouldn't be too pleased with, i'd imagine. And I think organising the voice talent would be a nightmare, with Matt, Karen and arthur busy filming doctor who in the UK for 9 months of the year.

*edit* @shauntron Now watch as your comments get blown widely out of proportions in a similair fashion to the wii-toaster comment...

Ehh...

While it would be awesome if Telltale got to make some Doctor Who games, it will never happen. As has already been said, someone else is making some, and that is incredibly unlikely to change. Plus, Telltale is an American company, and DW is a British show. While I wouldn't have a problem with this (Wallace & Gromit springs to mind) a lot of others would.

I don't know, most people coped with the torchwood shift, and that was WAY more americanized than the BBC would permit the games to be.

Torchwood and Doctor Who are two very different shows. Also, I see Torchwood as a standard action game, rather than an adventure.
