That would explain why he's barely mentioned and now, that I actually look at it, there's an update that states Al is no longer involved with the project.

...and it's going to fail anyway. Asking too much for what the market's been getting.

I think I'm going to back Sam Suede, despite Al Lowe no longer being on the project because it states it was completed by Steve Ince (from Revolution Software, Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso, So Blonde). I really like his sense of humor and art style, and it states Al Lowe and Ken Wegrzyn's original game design remains in tact.

Moving off of video games to board games, a friend of mine is trying to get a small amount of funding to publish his first board game Zombies, Aliens and Monsters! (Oh My)

I haven't played this game myself yet, but I have played 'Significant Quest', a Discworld board game that he created and has refined, and it would be great to see him meet his goal and officially become a game publisher. Hope this interests some of you enough to help!

Yup, the forums are up and running on the Winterkewl games website but unless your at least a backer you can't post on em. Backer and Founders also get access to even more closed of sections of the forums.

Hey guys. I was going through kickstarter and I read a great article about a wrongfully convicted man, Brian Banks, that was recently released from prison after being sentenced at the age 16 over 5 years ago. Anyways, he's been all over the news and he is pursuing his dream of playing football for the NFL (He is currently in talks with the Seattle Seahawks.). The money he's raising will go towards his documentary and his charity that helps other wrongfully convicted people. I'd really like to see him to meet his goal, and you get some cool stuff in exchange ($100 for two tickets to the premiere screening and wrap party). Here's the link.

To the surprise of absolutely no-one, Portal: Reborn (2.0) has been cancelled since there was no way in hell it was going to make the target. Shame, but sadly not unexpected.

I know many people have already said this before, but seriously, that looks a LOT like a Minecraft clone. Even the interface is the same.

HeXit is a sci-fi point and click adventure game, which could become an episodic adventure series if the first game is successful.

This one looks really interesting, the graphic design is phenomenal, and they're only asking for $75,000US, which should certainly be doable.

Dammit, quit making me back stuff! Now I'm backing HeXit and Crystal Catacombs, a retro-styled rouge-like RPG in a Metrodvania-like world that's only asking for 7½ grand and should easily make it. Gah!

Also, dude has a cat in his video. This is instantly awesome.

EDIT: I don't normally do this, but the music in the video convinced me to up my pledge so I could get the chiptune soundtrack. So it MUST be good if it actually got me of all people to do it.

Dead State Kickstarter link.

For those Walking Dead fans...this game is from ex-Troika/Obsidian alumni. Looks to be an attempt to create a more classic zombie survival game. Focus on characters, roleplay elements, defending your base of operations, etc.

I've been following this game for a long time and I saw this Kickstarter pretty much as soon as it went up, but somehow I missed that Obsidian and TROIKA devs were on this thing! WOW. TROIKA.

I was a big fan of Troika too. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines was pretty fantastic. And spooky at times. I always marveled at how my character was an epic vampire and here I was running around freaked the heck out by a haunted mansion. ^_^

Arcanum...I would kill to have a sequel to that. We really lack roleplaying games (or adventure games) that really have that Steampunk feel to it. And Steampunk is so popular these days...what gives?

But yeah long live Dead State! I do kinda wish they would have a few "pretty" female character portraits though. They all kind of look like female dwarves from what I have seen so far. Haha.
