View Poll Results: Which is more important: A strong narrative? Or freedom of exploration?
Give me a strong story! I don't care how much freedom I have as long as the story is good! 3 5.08%
Let me explore! The story should provide a loose framework for adventuring, nothing more. 17 28.81%
Telltale should be able to do both! (But can they?? What examples should they use?) 39 66.10%

Same here - I did that right to begin with and it didn't even occur to me that was supposed to be a puzzle at all. Really I think that after playing a good game I should feel like I just had to work at things a bit, if I want to be entertained without any mental effort I'll go to the movie theater or pull up something on Netflix.

Right. And it wouldn't cost you 30 bucks.

You go to the movie theater to see things that don't make you think? That's what I use television comedies for. Then again, I live in a city, so an independent cinema is pretty easy to find.

Well that all depends on whether I go by myself (~$10) with my wife (~$20) or if we make it a full outing and take the kids to some cartoon or something, in which case we then have kids meals to keep them occupied and all of that so it ends up costing like $50. But it's worth it.

Lol...fair enough. I thought you were talking about renting movies.

I mean look I agree with you personally a LOT of things KQ-wise...But come on. I doubt the game will be any worse as KQ game than MoE was (for most people). I doubt it will be as thoughtless as the original KQ2 as well. That game, even as a game, is a cobbled together mess which makes very little sense. It's probably my least favorite game in the series, saved only by the fact that Graham is the lead character and thus I like it by default.

I really think that these Universal licensed games will not be the way they go with KQ. I really hope so anyway. While I find both exploration and story to be important, I wouldn't want either at the expense of the other. The KQ formula is, imo, totally different than what TT has done before. (Lucas Arts style, I guess.)

KQ should focus on both exploration and story. Exploration came first, but story was always there, even when the technology limited how the story could be told in the earliest games.

While I wouldn't mind having it being mainly exploration-based like the first 5 KQ's, KQ6 had a lot of story in it and that was really well done. So honestly, I think KQ can work either way.
