They also didn't take the woman's did they? Danny looked at it all creepy like and that was it.

And I would be doubtful that the car was the woman's. As someone pointed out before, the battery had been keeping the lights and door chime on suggesting it had been recently abandoned. Not saying impossible, just not likely. Her camp was out of food, so if her car ran out of gas you'd think she would've taken some of the stuff back with her.

Thumbs up I Think You Are On To Something...

First of all a car battery can last a couple of hours, depending on the age of the battery. And this is with the engine turn off.
Since everything in episode 2 occurred in one day you may be on to something.
In addition to that, don't forget she also had a child in the same age as Clem. And in the car they found a hoodie same size as Clem.

the car probably belonged to someone we haven't seen yet. might even belong to the bandits.

or it just be as simple as a prepared survivor got bit or killed himself

Now I think it is probably the bandit's car, and unfortunately it kind of makes sense that they found the girl's jacket in the car if it is.

I wonder why Jolene calls Linda a rapist also is Linda a reference to Evil Dead's Linda who is an S-Mart employee

I personally think that whoever owned the car is long gone.

The doors were left open, and the light was on, but when Lee goes to start the car, it is out of gas. The car was most likely abandoned, along with a large supply of food because a small group wouldn't have been able to haul it around.

It will be interesting to see, however, if the owner of the car is still alive, and will be able to recognize that we raided the car by recognizing the sweater we give to Clem (if you give it to her).

Yeah, that's the only reason I had for not looting the car.

Also the battery wasn't dead so it couldn't have been abandoned for too long.

@Dildor, I agree that the car is only recently abandoned, but the point I was trying to make is that I believe it was purposeful, and that the owners probably had no intention of returning to claim whatever they left in it.

The guy needs to eat more fiber if his dump takes long enough to make his car run out of gas...

That's true, they were out of gas. It's still weird that they didn't bring the food with them though, so I'm going to continue doubting it's abandoned. It's possible something bad went down and they died/had to ditch the car and run.

There were three boxes of food, and a small box of supplies. It's possible that there could have been more, and the owners of the car took everything that they could carry, leaving behind what they couldn't.

And I think if something bad happened that they ditched the car, it makes it even less likely that they would be able to return to claim their stuff.

maybe they're surrounded right now by walkers or hiding from bandits and the daughter is like "mom dad what about the car and supplies." and dad's like "Don't worry sweetheart its in the middle of the woods it'll be there when we get back"

Didn't think of that.

They left it in the middle of the road, not the woods. They didn't even try to hide it - they left the doors open, the keys in the car, and the lights on.

They purposefully abandoned it - whether in haste because of an emergency, or planned, I think it's painfully obvious they are not coming back for it.

I really think it was one of those decisions that influences Clementine as opposed to future gameplay (she obviously is disappointed in you if you decide to take the items).

Maybe Clementine will steal something from Duck and think it's ok since they stole from the car

I think it's going to be hard to explain certain things to her.

For example, why you feel it was okay to take the items from the car. I can rationalize it here, but I can't tell Clem all of these things in the game. Even if I could, would she understand it? She's a very smart, but she's still only eight years old.

I try to be as uniform as possible when making my decisions, but I think I may have already messed up. For example, I told her that the man I killed was a very bad man, but I didn't kill the St. John brothers (who were DEFINITELY bad men).

i like to believe that there will basically be several hundred diffrent potential clementines by the end of the game kinda like in princess maker which is a kickass game even for guys about raising an adopted daughter and your decisions determine what she grows up to be.
