Default Corrupted installer for Sam and Max episode 1

So I finally managed to get the Sam and Max episode 1 downloaded just now, tried to install, got to 75% installed, crashed with an error message "corrupted installer", I'm sorry but WTF is this crap?! First Paypal crashes when I try to buy the game, now the damn game crashes when I try to install it?!

Suffice to say I will not be purchasing further Sam and Max or anything else from your site.

And I want my £5.24 ($10.29) back.

Hi Rich,

A corrupted installer means that something went wrong with the download. Unfortunately it's something that happens sometimes when you download things from the internet - not just with Sam & Max, and it's nothing we have any control over. (There's nothing wrong with the file we have up on our site.) You need to delete the installer and download it again. Here's a link: http://www.telltalegames.com/download/cultureshock

If you want your money back instead, that's fine. Send an email to support@telltalegames.com with your order number and we'll process a refund for you.

Also see my post here. If you don't have an order number because of the crash, the email address you used or your first/last name will allow us to find your order.

Rich,

I think you should apologise to Telltale (well, Emily as she's the one answering questions here). How is it Telltale's fault if the installer downloaded improperly? Do they have control over the Internet?

I think your post was bang out of order.

Thanks Sacharissa.

I understand how frustrating this stuff can be, especially when things go wrong. Sometimes you need to vent. I'd rather people came and vented here than kicked their cat or something!

*Seconded*
You kinda over-reacted here. I mean, all you have to do is download the installer again. It's not that hard. And the fact that you gave up after your first try and the fact that you're blaming Telltale for Paypal crashing really tells Telltale and readers of this that you have little to no experience with the internet.

PS: This is just one of those times when I feel like I need to vent about some nub on the internet, but hey, it's the internet, not much anyone can do about it.

What exactly does the error message say?

With a download, a corrupted installer generally means you need to redownload. But if you're getting that message when you try to install from a disc, there could be something wrong with your disc.
