I haven't read all of the comics, but I have some friends who are huge fans and I seem to recall them discussing at some point characters in the comic amputating a leg to stop the spread of infection. Can't remember specifics. Anyone know what the deal with that is?

Its spread by the time you get to the morgue, hes dead.

Ironical as I stated in another thread, Dale in the comics gets bitten on the leg. Rick and the others manage to cut it off at the infirmary just in time to stop the spread of the infection.

Yeah, one of the characters has his leg amputated by cannibals - not walkers. Dale, if I remember correctly. He was bitten, even though the leg was amputated/eaten by survivors. Andrea puts him down before he can turn.

Nah, that was the second time Dale was bit. That time it was his neck, so he couldn't really get that amputated. He survived his leg getting cut off for at least a month or so.

As I said guys, by the time lee gets to the morg its safe to assume its not just in his arm anymore, so Lee is going to turn eventually, if the bite is afterall a bite and not a simple scratch, maybe he wasn't bitten persay but scratched? I may have missed something but it did look like a scratch to me, but if its a bite hes dead for sure, he didn't amputate it immediately.

Actually, while his leg was amputated for food, it was because they didn't want him to be able to escape. He was actually bitten in the shoulder, and didn't tell anyone before it was far too late. He DID,however, get bitten at the prison in the ankle, where Rick and the group cut off his FIRST leg and managed to save him. Lee is dead though. It's been far too long since the bite to save him.
