Default TWD: Episode 4 and Steam problems

When I launch the game and check the status of the episodes, it says Ep. 4 is installed. When I try to launch the episode, it asks me if I want to randomly generate outcomes, as if I skipped Ep. 3 (I did not). When I load my save, it recaps the ending of Ep. 3 but doesn't move on to Ep. 4. In fact, when I scroll over to Ep. 4, it then says "Coming Soon."

I did attempt to start Ep. 4 with randomness, just to be sure something was there. It worked, but it sucks that my choices aren't properly carried over.

Anyone know what's going on with this? I haven't seen a post here specific to Steam (I don't have a "Get" option, for instance). The game has been patched as of two days ago. Is there another patch since that I haven't yet received?

There is a known problem with saves on 64-bit systems:

Although I'm not sure if this is the case here, because I had different symptoms.

I had the same problem. Look at "steam/steamapps/common/the walking dead/Pack" all the subfolders for a file called "prefs.prop" and delete it. Than try again to play. Good luck...

Thanks, sbock. I got it working, but not before fiddling with the savegames. For some reason, it wasn't taking my latest save, but rather about four saves back -- which still put it at the end of Ep. 3. I cleared out all the saves and brought them in one by one until I found the one it wanted to load (the time stamp on the game's GUI didn't match any of the saves for that date). I found the save it was looking for and renamed my latest save of Ep. 3 and viola, it jumped me properly in the Ep. 4.

I hope I don't have to go through this for Ep. 5. What a pain to figure out.
