Default TWD Game Retail Release Discussion

So apparently Amazon.com has revealed the (final?) box art of the retail release:

Also, IGN has said that there will be a limited edition retail release which includes extra goods packaged with the game:

What are your thoughts on this?

If the episodes have some kind of writer or/and developer commentary,I enjoyed listening to Gary whitta on the Destructiod playthrough, then I'll buy the game again. If not, I'll just stick to what I've got.

Yes, it would be cool to play with developer commentary. Maybe an update that adds it later for the ones who already bought it.

WHAT ABOUT PC RETAIL RELEASE ? Why is it that PC has to be left behind as always and since when did XBOX take a priority over PC ?

Huh, well that's odd. There aren't any reasons to buy the retail game if what you want is more game. I've never understood why a gamer would want to pay $60 for comics (or maps or posters/figurines/whatever) because they liked a game. Look--we liked the GAME so how about a special edition with more game content?

I know it's not easy to make game content, but then again it's a pretty big deal to ask a person to pay 3-4 times what the game cost the first time just to get some stuff that actually has nothing to do with the game. I swear any gamer would make far better special editions of retail games than every game developer who's ever lived. Make more game stuff. Let us play a prequel episode of what Chuck went through before he met up with Lee and the gang--THAT would get $100 out of me. Or add some different play modes or mini games or something to up the replay value.

But I tell you what, I don't want a set of comic books--I can get those without the game. I can't be the only one who wants more of what I love--The Walking Dead Game. I'm patient and season 2 will come and I'll prebuy the whole season again. But in the meantime, if you want me to buy the game I already own--sweeten the deal with more game, not more walking dead. There's a significant difference.

I'm not complaining, just hoping someone at Telltale reads this and says to themselves "Hmmm, you know--he's got a point. It's too late for this season, but let's do that for season 2. Add extra bonus game content for the special edition so that people don't just want it, but need it. Then we'll make more money, fans will get more (game-related) content, and everyone wins big."

This was a bit of a 'thickie' statement.

Trilobyte, the retail release isn't intended for you. It's intended for those who didn't buy the game digitally, for any particular reason, and would prefer to buy them the old fashioned way.

Telltale generally release the game on their website as a PC/Mac disc, cheaply for those who bought it - it's pretty much just disc production and postage. There tends to be bonus features. They ALSO release a deluxe edition, which comes with a heap of swag.
