Metroid isn't supposed to be a commentary about the effects of war on the human psyche. It's about a badass space bounty hunter on a mission to destroy her foes. Ridley might make her uneasy, but she's not supposed to be downright petrified by him.

I once bought Resident Evil 4--turns out I'm not a big fan; I later bought Bioshock--turns out I'm not a big fan.

THIS game is fun. Firstly, it's a cinematic adventure game (ie. an adventure game littered with a fair amount of QTE's), not a shooter. Yes, it has zombies, but the tone of the game is different. The coloring of the game isn't brown, gritty and post-apocolypse-esque (see:all other zombie games). The story is fun; the characters are compelling; the dialogue choices you make affect your gaming experience; and the control scheme is implemented well.

Donkey Kong 64 is definitely "padded" and is inferior to Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie. That being said, if Nintendo announced that Retro Studios was working on a new Donkey Kong 3D platformer in exactly the style of DK64, padding and all, I would be ecstatic. It's still a fantastic game with some of the best and most immersive levels ever, and it's a shame game design moved away from that style.

I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations which is okay; I don't like it as much as Brotherhood. I also just played an exhibition game in NBA Live 2000, 12 minute quarters, Knicks vs. Knicks, in preparation for my upcoming 82 game season. I've done that with Live 95-99 and will be going for the five-peat this year (I lost in 7 games in the Eastern Conference Finals in Live 95 - way back in early 1996). In tonight's game I got beaten badly despite a late rally and 80+ points from Allan Houston, so I might not be ready to officially start the season yet.
