Team Lily to the end (appreciation thread)

Yeah, well it is kinda sad. Lilly's story in the game was the perfect background of both the book and the comics. Kirkman turned a potentially strong character and story into a "meh" situation... I don't think that was a smart choice on his part. He could've done it easily. Just mention what Kenny does to her father and it's fine. In all players' choices Kenny is the one to kill Larry. She doesn't have to remember about Lee or Carley/Doug... He could've just mentioned the accident later, without being specific as to who Lilly killed. Seriously it wouldn't have been that difficult.

Am I imagining things or are people much more supportive of Lilly now that ep.3 is in the past? Especially after some of them realized what an asshole Kenny is I'm definitely sure I see more people posting stuff like "I like Lilly, she was cool".

I am a big fan of Carley and even though I was pissed at Lilly for what she did, I do still like her. Lilly was doing was she thought was best for the group, it was wrong, but she had the right intentions.

Don't worry everything else is still canon to the walking dead universe, you'll be pleased to know that only this Lilly's story has been changed.

Well, I must say I'm one of these people. When we were with her, I always tried to be neutral on her discussions with Kenny, but when I didn't have to pick sides, I tried to be nice to both of them. But after episode 2, I found myself leaning more towards pro-Lilly choices when she and Kenny were arguing, but remained willing to regain Kenny's friendship, even though his behaviour was pushing me away. But Lillly was still a decent person in the end, even though she messed up big time by shooting Doug, at least she had good intentions and showed regret afterwards.

After seeing Kenny on episode 4... to me, at least, it seems he just doesn't care about people. The only time he showed some kind of remorse was before he smashed Larry's head in. Since I didn't help him do it, he left me to die later on episode 2 and on the beginning of episode 3. Then he was eager to kick Lilly out of the RV, as if her snapping had absolutely nothing to do with some of his past actions, and on episode 4 he doesn't even want to consider taking Molly on the boat even though she saves his life ("What has she done for me lately?"). And then he wanted me to just drop Ben from the bell tower and go, which is understandable, but still very wrong. That was it for me.

Seeing how Kenny is now really does make me miss Lilly.

Still what she did outweighs these (in a horrible way) as a single act but she has contributed more to the group than Ben. I did keep him alive by the way.

Now that Lilly is officially not the one from the comics anymore, I hope we get to see her again. Maybe in season 2.

Lilly was such an interesting character. Siding in the meat locker with her ruined my relationship with Kenny probably for the whole game, while it changed my relationship with her only until the beginning of episode 3. Let's have her come back in season 2!

Yeah, I wished siding with Lilly in the meat locker would have had more impact on Lilly as a character. The same way Kenny listened to me or disregarded my advice I expected Lilly to listen to me in Ep. 3, which is why she continued to let me down when she couldn´t trust me.

I couldn´t bring myself to leave her by the side of the road after she had been a friend of mine, but I didn´t know what to do with her. When she tried to steal the RV, I told her to stop, while hoping she´d finally take a word I said in that episode. She kicked me out and stole it anyway.

And for what? In the end, it turns out she isn´t even the same Lilly from the comics. I hope they bring her back for season 2, I really loved her a character.

Dunno yet, I will start it in a few days. I've been quite busy the last month and didn't really have any desire to read at all
However, I just finished the Rise of the Governor a few hours ago and I must say I really liked it. I hope the second one is at least as good as this one.
I know that won't be our Lilly in the book but as long the storytelling is good, I won't really care that much.

I've read both books. The rise of the governor was actually pretty good. It was interesting to see a group of characters actually do smart things and work together as a team. I liked that things seemed to be going well for the group until a few mistakes were made and guilt set in. Then things went downhill pretty fast.

The road to woodbury was not that good. Lilly's backstory was nothing remotely close to the one TTG/Kirkman introduced in the video game. That would be okay for a book if her backstory was better but it was not. It was not all that convincing. Why not use the TTG backstory and instead use a worse backstory. Her character in the story was okay for most of the book as just a regular walking dead story goes but then her character changed suddenly and other characters then did things that were inconsistent with their characters as well. It just became unconvincing all around.

Stop trying to avoid direction questions at you because you knew Carley didn't deserve to die and yet you know that by justifying her lack of presence in Episode 2, whatever, your support in Lilly is ridiculous.
