Hey, I don't know what the mass transit system is like where you live. From what I understand, there are quite a number of people in New York City (for example) who don't have nor need a driver's license. All I know is that the system in Tulsa is, in my opinion, nowhere near an acceptable substitute for a car.
Also, no I didn't consider my saying that to be akin to mocking the handicapped. As I said, I don't know how active/widespread the transit system is there. A handicapped person is likely unable to recover from their infirmity (depending on their circumstances, of course), whereas I don't see why someone who was capable of safely driving a car wouldn't be able to get a driver's license (if they desired to have one
). With this in mind, I didn't assume you have no choice but to go without.
