Default Logitech gamepad problem (The Walking Dead, PC)

Dear Telltale,

I purchased "The Walking Dead" for PC.
And I have the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 gamepad.
And I have read that you support Logitech gamepads.

The problems are the next:

1. Right (analog) stick doesn't work.

2. Incorrect button binding:
Expected: A=2; B=3; X=1; Y=4.
Actual: A=1; B=2; X=3; Y=4.

3. XBox gamepad emulators (e.g. x360ce - http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/) don't work.
Maybe Lafazar was right in his topic (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/...ad.php?t=29352)?

I want to enjoy your game with the gamepad.
I look forward to your reply how we could solve this problems.

Thank you and best regards,
Andrew

MY xbox controller will not work Yet steam says "Controller enabled" I got this game based on controller support . I hope there is a fix or I will be calling for a refund on the grounds of false advertising

I have the same controller and also have the problem with the buttons not corresponding to the Xbox 360 controller buttons. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I have a Logitech Wireless F710, and I had a similar sounding problem but eventually solved the problem. I'm not sure if other models are the same but mine has a switch on the controller to select either Direct or XInput, I have to switch it to XInput to get it working perfectly. Originally I was trying to run TWD via the Logitech profile launcher with no luck, but there's no need to use it. Just launch the game by itself, switch to XInput mode and power on the controller

We test our games using wired xbox and logitech controllers. Unfortunately we do not have access to all the various versions of controllers that logitech and other companies make. We have confirmed that wired official xbox and some made for xbox (like madcatz) controllers work with our games. If you have an official xbox controller, and it is not working, please make sure you have plugged in the controller, and if needed, turn it on, before launching the game you wish to play. This will ensure the game recognizes the controller. If the game is started before you plug-in or activate the controller, it will not be recognized until you restart the game.

Using a wired Xbox controller. Used to work in the past, and it works with every other game, but for some reason it's not working with TWD anymore.

I suppose that Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 is a quite prevalent controller, isn't it?

You might guess from my description of the problem that I already know this information. And it is not related to the problem.

So, could you answer _my_ questions, please?

Same problem here. The Cordless Rumblepads don't have the switched mentioned earlier. Disabling the Logitech profiler software does not help either. As long as the controller is plugged in the game detects it and assumes it's an Xbox controller thus I'm not sure there is a way to override it via the profiler software, but I might give that a try. Actually I'm pretty sure that won't work being that I had a different profile loaded when I first launched the game and it seemed to completely ignore it and assume it was an Xbox controller.

Can we at least get an option in-game to swtich to keyboard, that way we probably could use the Logitech profiler software to mimic the keyboard controls and get what we want.

Default workaround for Cordless Rumblepad 2

Here's how I got the Cordless Rumblepad 2 functioning with The Walking Dead in Windows 8.

Go to www.tocaedit.com and click Downloads. Then go to:
Utilities - Other > XBOX360 Controller Emulator > dinput8-x360cev21.zip

Click on File > Download to save the zip. Then extract dinput8.dll from the blocker folder in the zip. Place dinput8.dll in the same folder as your Walking Dead executable.

Create a profile for the Walking Dead executable with the Logitech Profiler to emulate the game's keyboard and mouse controls.

It's not as good as emulating the Xbox 360 Controller, but at least it will work.

I got my PS2 controller emulated properly as a 360 pad by emulating it through x360ce, which you can get from the TocaEdit site the comment above me mentions. Get that and create a profile for your controller in the main TWD folder. Then also download the dinput8-x360cev21.zip that the above comment mentions, and extract the dinput8.dll file from the spoofer folder (not the blocker folder) into the main TWD folder as well. Should work like a charm.
