I doubt my gameplay would have changed much, but I think alot more people would have been willing to do hard stuff like killing the St. John brothers in front of boy Clem.

Why would it have been really bad? Are only girls worth being protected? I don't get it.

girls are considered more delicate and enforces the mans urge to protect her...which is what the game wanted you to do and feel. clem being a boy would have ruined the feeling.

Let's all be honest here - we wouldn't have grown as nearly attached to a boy as we did to Clementine.

Attaching to a character is through the writing and you shouldn't compare the existing girl story to a possible boy story. I think it could've worked just as good.

Having Clem be a boy would have given different opportunities like him getting all excited about shooting the gun(you same guys would've probably pounded your breast, telling everyone how badass you little boy was), while destroying some other moments (like the hair cutting scene) we had with "real" Clem.

I'm not saying that. It's just after playing this whole season since April and to say oh Clem's a boy would you like it, I have to say no. We all fell in love with that little girl and to change it would be weird.

I wouldn't mind if they introduced a new character. If it was a boy from the start this whole 'what if' chat wouldn't be happening. Now that I think about it, to talk about this kind of stuff is kind of dopey lol... and I'm too high to do it anymore.

Honestly, I think we will definitely see Clem as the main or second main character in Season 2. Do you really think TTG is finished with Clementine?

i think playing the protector character for clem has been done and tt wont make a new game based on it again. i do however see a new character protecting his wife or gf.

On the topic at hand, I don't see what gender has to do with protection - you protect kids. Period.

Hey I protected Ben with my life, and don't you all remember Duck? Sure he may have been mentally ill, but we all thought he was awesome. Right? Guys? Anybody?....

I do find it... odd that Duck got so easily blamed for Shawn's death and eating human meat while players and the game itself are willing to make Lee risk his life and the group's to find Clementine (possibly at the cost of Ben and Kenny's lives), especially when at certain points you can do some rather cruel things to people like dropping Ben, who was 'a liability.'

Does make me think about my own morality a little (and that of the developers and fellow players), even if it is just a game.

I have to disagree there. Sure, if Clem would have beeen Duck or an 8 year old Ben the game would have been different, but in the end you protect children, no matter how high in the clouds they might be [Duck] or how much of a FU they are [Ben].

Yes. I can't really explain why... Maybe it's cultural. And a bit sexist if you ask the feminists. oh wait... nope. Only if I would say it would've been better with a boy

To an extent, but regardless of how you've played Lee until then, you still risk the group's life and your own and treat Clementine like family. Again, I find it a bit odd that a child you've known for three months becomes like family to you while you go around and advocate killing other people's children like in Duck's case because they were or might have been infected in front of their real parents. Risking your life and the group's for Clementine should have been a carefully thought out (branching) decision between survival or sacrifice because a random child will never be like family to some.

Lee already lost his real family in episode 1.

I honestly hated Clementine until episode 5 when she shot Campman in the head and saved me.

game would've had bad reception and would've brought telltale out of business; no way they could regroup from those financial losses.
