The Great Cow Race VG Company downsizes, blames "steep decline in demand for console games"...

UK-based developer Eurocom has had to lay off all but 50 of its staff, firing 100 employees.

"We've fought to try and save as many jobs as possible, but the steep decline in demand for console games, culminating in a number of console projects falling through in the last week, left us with no option."

-Hugh Binns studio director for Eurocom.

The studio is best known for making 007 games, the latest 007 Legends.

Considering 007 Legends sucked on all possible counts, this is just another case of developers blaming everyone but themselves. Carry on, folks, nothing to see here.

The problem is, at least here in the US, the economy sucks. I, for one, lost my job and haven't been able to find one since(apps filed, no calls, F***).

Yes. The market for bad console games is lower than it was 6 years ago.

This. 007 Legends was terrible and I have no sympathy for a company that can make something so bloody hopeless.

That's a rather uplifting thing to say. However, I believe people buy a whole lot of VERY bad console games if only their roman numbers are high enough.

Problem is that will change as soon as the next console generation is out. It's a circle and we are at an end. Which means it will be a new beginning.

Exactly. And the game came out during a time when James Bond was being hyped all around the world. If they had made a good game, it would have sold well. But everyone knew how bad it was from the beginning.
