Lee cutting his own arm off was pretty gnarly

I wouldn't do it personally.
But since this is a video game I was able to do it. However Christa was all too happy and egard to start sawing away on Lee's arm.

Like once you agree to the idea. She doesn't even let Lee finish his last sentence before hacking away at his arm. She also was suggesting it when Lee was unconscious. Already on the table and everything.

Given that the alternative would have been killing him, I think it was telling how vehemently she was willing to insist and execute an amputation in hopes that it might work.

The difference is that he can still carry alot ALOT of stuff even without an arm, and we couldn't... because you know, he's urban.

What are the variations to Lee cutting his arm off?
I had three saves:
Lee on his own
Christa and Omid, Christa does it
Everyone, Christa does it

I have see some playthroughs but they are all one of the above.
What happens if you have only kenny and/or Ben?
Does Ben cut off Lee's arm?!

That would of been a much harder choice for me in real life, the fear of certain death or the fear of putting yourself through excruciating pain in a desperate hope that it may save you or just give you more hours but badly crippled.I'm not certain what I would do...

I don't think I would've. It would be pretty much a waste of time when you have someone to rescue. I figured you need both hands in some situations. Worst of all would be if you became that weak in the store before you find Clementine. Laying there knowing that you can do nothing about anything. That would suck... so bad.

Yeah I cringed. especially when it doesn't keep him alive at all so there's no point in doing it.

if you have Ben he will pussy out and you grab the saw and do it yourself if you have kenny he has balls so he will do it

It was a gut wrenching moment. I've yet to see Lee do it himself but I can imagine that would be even worse.

I hated the idea of it so I kept my arm in my first go through, but apparently you faint less if you lose the arm.

It is worse. While Lee seems to pass out about halfway through when someone else does it, if he's on his own, not only does he cut through his entire arm but he runs over to the counter and seals up the wound before passing out again. I am not ashamed to say I laughed during that part (second playthrough. The first one I kept the arm and it was all tears).

I thought the whole arm cutting thing is a little overdone these days. Everyone seems to do it.

Also immediately afterwards he turns into Batman. Acts like nothing ever happens, climbs latters, jumps across buildings. It never bothers him. And the others just let him do all the heroic stuff.

Last time someone sawed off my arm, I was down and out for weeks.

It seemed a bit too much for my taste.

Haha, did you know that if you're on your own, you can choose to cut your arm but then they give you the option to back out? So then you just walk around with a muscly exposed arm the rest of the game! I'm replaying, gonna get Kenny or Ben to cut it off >

It's the only way to survive in that situation, so of course everyone is going to do it.

If you ever start getting too grounded in realistic scenarios, remember that there are corpses walking around eating intestines as well. Chalk it up to an extended fight or flight response.

I had only Kenny with me, and just for laughs i yelled stop midway through the sawing. "It's a little late for that, pal!"

Lee is a determined black man who is looking for his lost pseudo-daughter. Of course he's going to turn into Batman, that's what it means to be a parent. You'll do anything to protect your kids.

Yeah you can tell he's not as sad about dying as he is that Clem won't have him to look after her anymore.
