Default What do you think was more emotionally devastating to Clem

Which would you think was more emotionally devastating to Clem seeing her parents as walker or the fate of lee depending on what ending you chose.

Probably Lee. I think deep down she knew her parents were most likely dead but just refused to believe the obvious. With Lee it happened really fast, she never had 3 months to think about it, she had to kill or leave him behind minutes after learning about it.

Lee

As Yertos said, she probably knew deep down about her parents and had 3 months, but with lee it was out of nowhere for her. Also, when she found out her parents were dead for sure she at least had lee, but now, she has nobody.

Lee obviously. He became a father figure over the months.

Lee.

I agree with Yertos, I think she knew her parents were probably dead, but didn't really want to face it (which is normal, especially for a 9 yo girl...).

Lee. It was the added effects of seeing her parents dead, as well as losing the closest thing she had for a guardian.

Yeah, Lee. After seeing her parents dead, she probably felt like, "I'll be fine, I still have Lee." He was her protector, and he probably seemed invincible to her at that point after all they'd been through.

This is a good question. We're quick to say Lee but even though Clem acts strong she is still a little girl and yeah maybe she didn't really believe her parents were still alive but that confirmed that they aren't. It would've been nice if there were closure for her to put her parents down like Lee did with her brothers. I think if there weren't the horde it would be the right thing to do.

True, if Clem or Lee were able to take them out it would have added a lot more emotion and another major choice if they had the time. Should Clem kill her walker parents or should Lee? Probably would end up being the same as the Kill or Leave Lee choice.

This.

It is very easy for us to say Lee, but that's also in many ways fueled by our own perception. She held onto the hope of her parents living up to and including the moment she was kidnapped. Don't you remember how she kept asking for the radio in episode 4? That is not the behavior of a child that accepted her parents are dead.

At best, she would have realized it after the Stranger did not keep his promise and have her parents with him. But that's less than a day before the ending.

Seeing her parents dead was confirming her worst fears, something that may have been in the back of her mind for the last of couple months. Clem saved Lee, despite seeing her parent's fate. Lee and Clem had developed a very tight bond through surviving countless life or death scenarios, so I'd say Lee. Putting a bullet in (or leaving him to die) was probably way, way harder for Clem.

Dildor, I agree with you partially.. but I do believe that the scene was hard for Clem not only because it was Lee. Yeah, Clem choose to survive and help Lee when she saw he parents were dead. She did not allow herself to fall to grief then because she still had a friend to take care of.

But I think the emotions she felt at the end were not just for Lee's demise. In a few moments she went from a girl hoping for her parents were alive while being in the care of a strong protector, to knowing her parents being confirmed deadand her protector about to die.

Just because she didn't collapse on the street, doesn't mean she wasn't devastated over it. Heck, she also did what she had to do to Lee.

With her parents now confirmed dead, Lee was the last and only person she had to hold onto. Losing him had to be crushing.

If her parents were alive and Lee died she would have been sad, but still had her folks to fall back on for some kind of comfort; with them dead and Lee gone...it's just too much I think.

Agreeing with everybody else, I believe Lee was more emotionally devastating. She probably knew deep down that her parents were dead, but refused to believe it so she had that little tiny sliver of hope. If you notice, when she saw her parents, all she did was stare with a sad look, and when Lee fell down, she was still able to help him. Which means she probably wasn't too busy crying, so she was more worried about him, who became a huge figure over the time, than someone she hasn't seen in 3 months. Lee was more devastating.

Lee's fate, because she felt like she had caused it.

Lee, Of course. Though she deeply cares for her parents, She loved them, yes, But she spent a very long time with Lee also. She survived the zombie apocalypse with him, after all.
