My parents are not letting me set the Wii up downstairs on the new TV/Monitor my dad got (22" LG, with 2HDMI, Component, and Scart ect.).
I think my argument as to why it SHOULD be downstairs are perfectly reasonable.
1. It doesn't take up much room and is easy to set up, (AND, move the chair and you have quite a bit more space to play on it!).
2. Doesn't need a big screen. Infact, the bigger the screen, the worse it looks.
3. Its annoying to use in my room. I have a wall mounted TV. You put the sensor bar below the TV, you can't use a wiimote, since you're too close to it. The only way it works is to keep the sensor bar ABOVE the TV, then climb the miniladder and sit on the bed.
Also my little bro keeps knocking the sensor bar off and its a bugger to fish out when I want to use the Wii! -_-
4. It can run emulators (the PC then can be free of games for the most part)
5. I can still play a console should:
A. Everyone's using the main TV
B. My little bro is using the TV upstairs
C. My older brother is using my little HD TV in his room with his PS3
The only conflict that occurs is when D. My mother wants to play shitty bubble witch on this PC though... (Which is probably why she doesn't want me to set it up, despite it making perfect sense!)
6. If I get a new hard drive, then I can use the old one with the Wii, removing its need for discs and making it an ever better companion to the PC. (then, like my PSP, I can collect old Wii titles, the rest of the decent ones, and then rip them onto the HDD)
Even without 6. It still sounds like a good idea, with only one minor discrepancy.
(And thats not really an issue, since I can simply play games on my laptop, PSP, or 3DS then. But it DOES give me more of a reason to play my Wii, because at the moment, its a little cumbersome to setup and play...)
EDIT: 7. Doesn't really need an internet connection unlike the 360 and PS3
