There should've been an option to cut off our arm as soon as we got to the morgue, not after he passed out. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Cutting your arm off offers a least a slim chance of survival.

That's my reasoning.
Me too. Though I figured it was far too late anyway.

I knew Lee was screwed, Lee knew he was screwed but you have to take the chance even if it is a very small chance of survival.

I had actually forgot about a lot of Walker mythology by the time I started playing this game. I finished the Compendium and had been following the TV series mostly, and missed a few episodes in Season 2.

So, I imagined Clem without Lee, and most other video games give you a happier ending if you're willing to do the more extreme, painful thing. I really wasn't expecting that ending at all. This isn't most other video games, so I assumed that there could be a happy ending if I made the right choices...and well, um, yeah....

And besides, it does help you a little. If you cut it off, Lee doesn't pass out on the ladder or in the attic.

Fun fact, the cut-off might have actually worked if they'd been able to stitch him up, he didn't go all pale and die because of the infection, I'm pretty sure it was blood loss if you cut his arm off. If you leave it on it is the infection that gets him.

I'm pretty sure he looks the same either way at the end. Maybe if you did cut t off only a little bit of a difference is shown, but I didn't notice anything.

For me, I thought that I was infected no matter what, but I thought that chopping it off would give me extra time/extra strength.
My hubby thought that there might be the slightest chance it would save him, but he also chopped it off in hopes of having extra time. But he did say that as soon as he was bitten, he knew it was a death sentence.

I don't think it would have worked regardless. Lee passes out before his arm can be cut off, so the only explanation for this is that the infection has spread.

I think "fuck it, cut it off" summed up my thoughts perfectly. I didn't expect it to work, but what was there to lose in trying?

^True. I cut it off because I figured it'd help regardless. An arm aching like that would get in the way.

I think the incentive to not cut it off is because it would help you fight the stranger. I would imagine hand-to-hand combat to be significantly more difficult with only one arm to fight, so cutting it off would risk you being too weak to defeat the stranger and him killing you anyway...

Lee references this as well... "If i find the guy who's got Clem, I'll be happy i have them both(arms)."

I think the risk was worth it, though. Having Lee cut it off himself is so damn brutal, though.

That's why it's super important to make friends. They'll be there to lop off your limbs in times of need!
