Spoilers! Saving Shaun? [SPOILERS]

Hey, I've only done one playthrough of the game, and I decided to save Duck!
I was wondering what the plot's like if you had saved Shaun, and what about the whole "He's bitten!" thing with Larry at the drugstore?

Thanks!

This is going to tick you off, but nothing changes.

I'm not joking, NOTHING changes on this one decision. Shaun actually dies and Duck lives regardless. If you attempt to save Shaun, you either choose to fight the zombies(and fail) or try to pull him out of the tractor(and fail) and shaun die s. Meanwhile Kenny goes off to save Duck and succeeds.

I personally hate this part of the game as it goes against the "your choices matter" part, but so far telltale has only pulled that BS once and the rest of the decisions actually do crap.

Does Hershel thank you or anything? And I'm guessing Kenny ends up saving Duck.

Yeah, Kenny saves Duck. Hershal still goes nuts and kicks you out. He says "you tried to save my son, I see that, but" and then kicks you out anyway. After that, nothing really changes. Kind of sucks, but so far that's the only time its happened.

I wish the scene would have been a little different if you chose to save Shaun. We know he is supposed to die from the comics. It should have let you "save" Shaun, but he still gets bit. Then have Lee and Kenny leave thinking Shaun was ok. It sounds like Lee and Kenny didn't know a bite kills you til you got to the drug store and Larry thought Duck was bitten.

Would have been cool for an extra bit - maybe you could only get this scene if you chose to save Shawn by hitting the walkers away from him, giving him enough time for Herschel to come out and shoot the Walkers.

It's outcome has to do with Kenny's trust/faith in your leadership.

That seems to be the prevalent outcome of each of our choices. The story isn't affected so much as the characters and their relationships with one another.

That wouldn't change we still wouldn't try to save Duck.

No, I ignored Duck in every way possible during that scene and Kenny still trusted me like I was his best friend.

Until I said that beating an old man to death with a salt lick is a bad idea oh NOOO that gets him hating you.

In terms of impacting the story there is no difference, Shaun dies and Hershel kicks Kenny and his family out regardless of your choice. Since they're your only ticket to Macon, you end up going with them.

However, the choice you make does go a long way in shaping your opinion of Kenny's character. If you help Duck first, Kenny appears to panic in the heat of the moment leading to Shaun's death. If you help Shaun first, Kenny's abandoning him seems far more calculated and cowardly.

In my play throughs, if you ignore duck or side/reason with Larry about Duck, Kenny tells you he doesn't see you in his families future escape plan. Not siding with him about Larry the second time will split your relationship completely in my opinion.

it makes sence. and Kenny talks to u later differently about it based on who u try to save. just cause it gave u the option on who to save doesnt mean u will get guaranteed 100%. would u have prefered it making u save Duck? stupid person is stupid.

It's Shawn, not Shaun just to be politically correct here. Now, having Shaun from Shaun of the Dead as an unlockable character would be pretty sweet.

Well,Shawn has to die,he is a roamer in the comics and T.V. show.
