I would very much be interested in this if it comes off the ground

You can see me as a jack of all trades...
I'm most adept at raw programming but I'm not quite sure how much programming
is involved in unity3d?

Thumbs up

OK guys, So I'm working really hard on this project and I prepared lots of things before working on the story line

For now I should work alone to prepare some initial steps, I would you just believe that we can do this and after that we must work together as a group, with a strong unity

Believe me I know what I'm doing and I'll assure you we are able and we can do this
Just give me time and I'll show you how

Our group will have two parts
Part1: for original members we can be five or six people, and these people must work hard and serious on this project and also they have to manage the project too
They'll be determined during project

part2: But we can get help from other members too, these people will haven't full ownership on this project and it depends on their works for this game

Group will be formed soon but for now I should make a little of this game first and I'm working on it, Everything has gone great and faster than what I thought
I worked on two characters and they are almost ready, I worked on their texturing and their rigs and animations, skin and a little programing so everything is good but I'm not ready to making a little of this game yet and I'll need more time

I've read all posts carefully. thanks but I'm afraid I don't have time to reply them one by one, specially with my broken English

So please if you're really determined and serious just send me a PM and we'll talk more later
For now Just those that have one of the following skills

1- 3D designer
2- skill in animation and rigs
3- Two good voices for characters (for now)

Thanks, Why not? If we work together as a group we can make a game even better than TWD, It's not my first project and I'm sure we can do this if we'll work with eager and willing people.

Don't you have any skill with 3D design ? or can't you learn a software like 3d max ?

That wouldn't be hard, Especially these days with softwars like 3D MAX 2011or ,,, ,,,
You shouldn't start with hard models like characters!

The most important part in this game is animations and I'm working on it

Maybe it's just me, but I always thought gameplay and story were the most important parts of a game. I can understand it if what you're making is more of an experience than a game, like Journey, though. Any idea what the game's gonna be like yet?

I didn't say that, I'm just saying the most important part for making a game like TWD is animations
The game would be like The Walking Dead

I want to help! I'm good at creating music in FL studio and drawing (maybe I can help with the character design). And I do know some basic programming... Also, can I be the voice actress?

With the risk of sounding like a dick, that's not how (video) game development works, and that's not how Telltale went into creating the game.

Since they already had the engine, they only needed a setting, a story, character design and global description of the gameplay. Then, before they began working out the assets, they made sure they fine-tuned everything.

Graphics and animations most of the time comes last, NOT first.

And there's a reason for this. When you dive head-first into developing games, it always turns out shit. I don't know exactly how Telltale did it specifically, but in the software development department, we always go through several stuff first. We always plan out, we first want to know what our software is all about, what it should do, what is important. We prioritize stuff, see what works and what doesn't. During this phase, visual design might also be done.

Then we either prototype, to see if our ideas work, or just go ahead and build the engine. It is mostly preferred to do prototyping, as you can more easily discard ideas in this stage, but as I am not a good programmer, I always skip that phase. It's only after we know stuff works we actually implement the visuals we planned earlier.

It all makes sense even. If you don't do all this, you end up with a product that only barely works. Visually it might even be apalling, as you might end up with different styles. Only through planning you could make something that is at least half-decent. It literally is what separates a bad game from a good game.

The base line here is that developing a game takes planning. A lot of fan and group projects failed because of bad planning.

That's really good, First I have to say sorry if I wasn't here a fwe days
I'm working on this game hard and I passed all the initial steps and now I can say we will shouldn't have any problem with Main character and his rigs and his skin and animation and texturing and modeling and programing and .......
Also I've test all of this in the game engine and everything seems really good

In the next 3 days I'll start working on story line(I have a good start for the game in my mind, this start can be fit with any kind of story)
I hope we'll work together on this project

Thank you, I'm agree with you but just belive it isn't my first time, As I said before I know what we going to do and know there will be no technical problems that be able to stop us from creating this game

Forgive me If there was any insult in my post it's becuase I can't use English words in the right place

For now I'm working on main animation, I've created just one character and I have to use this character as all other characters!(for now)

In the first scene we need 4 characters and for now I use main character as the other characters

Everything is going well but It would really help if someone will join me to create more characters

I would love to help the project looks good. But if we really want to be serious I agree with GaryCXJk the story and outline of the game should be made. Arsun97 and a few other people should start on that. I could collaborate on it too.

We are going to want to decide what kind of this game is going to be, exactly how it will work. We don't want to be too similar to TWD, instead we should try and make something original. It can have the same idea but should come out differently.

I think a larger group could be useful too. About 3-4 should work on the story/outline, and the rest should go to programming/animation.

I can help with English edits and putting this together. I think I could also help on the story. If this is actually serious we should probably find another way to communicate besides this forum, doesn't have to be skype or anything though.

This sounds really great! I think this is how we should progress.

I am a total n00b when it comes to programming and / or designing, but I am always willing to put my education to use and create some music for games and / or movies.
