Default Episode 2 launches end of Episode 1

Awhile back I tried to continue my progress in Episode 4. This instead loaded up episode 1, and erased my previous save information. That had been frustrating, but I decided to just go through the episodes again, playing a full episode in one sitting.

My newest problem is that whenever I try to load up Episode 2, it simply launches into the end of Episode 1. Kind of annoying to repeatedly select Episode 2 and instead see Glenn getting ready to depart for Atlanta before I go through a few conversations and the credits roll.

I'd really like to actually play this game, and get through Episode 4, but at this rate I don't think I even want to buy Episode 5 and just save my money and prevent the frustrations I have a feeling would be coming my way.

Playing on 360, with Xbox Live Gold account. Same gamertag I bought the episodes on. Downloadable Content option menu says they are all installed (except for Episode 5, as stated).

I hope some fix will come of this, but a quick glance around the forums is leaving me somewhat less than hopeful.

A new Title Update was released this past weekend that should resolve this issue.

Default DLC issue

I see most issues are for the retail disc but I bought the XBLA episodes yesterday & finished ep 1 but can't continue to ep 2. It just replays the end of ep. 1. If there was a title update it didn't help me

Same thing here, just bought all episodes and can't even play them. Dare I ask for a refund? :'(

Good luck with the refund, I don't think you'll get anywhere with that. And I logged on last night at about 3AM and tried again to see if random chance would let me continue to chapter 2, but no luck. And pretty sure I didn't get an update...if I did, it didn't help at all.

I'm having the same issue. I played episode 1 straight through. Came back the next day to play episode 2, it starts me off just before the end of episode 1 at the motel. No matter how many times I try finishing the episode again, I start off at the same place.

I have the black 360 250gb model. I purchased through live, so playing with the download, not disc. Gold account. Using Wifi. Bought all 5 episodes before I started playing, and I believe episodes were downloading in the background as I was playing the first. All 5 were finished before I started episode 2 though.

I'm having the exact same issue on XBOX. I bought/beat episode 1 about a month ago, then I bought all of them yesterday and downloaded/installed. I try to get on today, click episode 2 and it brings me back to Ep 1 talking to Glenn. I've tried it 3 times and no luck actually playing episode 2.

The somewhat work-around that has been tossed around here worked for me. Just copy the file to another slot and load episode 2. If it brings you back to episode 1 quit to main menu and copy again. Keep doing until it works. It took me 3 tries.

Cool, I'll try that & I'll let everyone know if it works or not for me

This worked for me as well. Took 2 tries.

Still had some issues while playing. Occasional hitching and at one point in episode 3, the dialogue audio would start to repeat midsentence.

Fantastic game so far but these bugs really hamper the experience.

Default also stuck

Took advice on copying save from end of Ep1 to another slot. Did not work. Copied it to a 3rd slot and it let me into Ep2.

Played continuously to 'dinner time' and then exited to main menu. Exited game normally. Today I started game up to finish Ep2. Chose Save game from last save which took me to Ep select screens. I started Ep2 only to be told that if I chose to Rewind all my progress would be nicked. Selected 'Yes' (there where no 'A' or 'B' select buttons, just a Yes or No on screen) and then black screen, no audio, everything is dead.

Exited out using Xbox Home button on controller. Re-started game 2 more times, but I am getting the same result. Tried diff scenarios of copying files/selecting rewind to no avail.

Broken.
Telltale: let your customers know when you have this fixed. Until then, I will not purchase another single item from your company. That is a promise.

If you have the retail disc version of the game and cannot load an episode other than episode 1, and are playing offline with an xbox live enabled profile, connecting to xbox live should resolve the issue. Unfortunately this is not the case when attempting to load a save from a later episode that reverts back to Episode 1. We are investigating both of these issues and hope to have a solution soon.
