So I got Episode 1 for free and downloaded it on my iphone 4S. It ran perfectly, smoothly, and without fail. I then put it on my new ipad 4 and it runs great on that too. Then I bought the 2-5 multi-pack on my ipad and the download worked great and I even played the next two episodes on it.
However, now when I try to play it on my iPhone it won't even open. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it and that did not solve the problem. No settings on my phone have changed since the last time I played it. The only thing I can think of that would cause it to do that would be the purchasing of the multi-pack from my ipad and my iphone not being able to handle it.

Help please!

On my iPod touch(4th gen.) I have to restart the device to avoid crashes, although it is far less capable than your iPhone.
Make sure no other app is using your RAM.(Double tap Home button, close all recent apps including Walking Dead then try again.)
