Question What happens if at every conversation you don't talk?

What happens if at every conversation you don't talk? I have been wondering this for a while.

Someone else might do the same actions you'd choose to.

Nothing really changes. Although many times, there is a humorous conversation. Example:
When you're with Omid about to jump onto the train
Lee-...
Omid-Fuckin' scary, right?!
*looks back at oncoming herd*
Omid-Scarier *pushes Lee onto the train*

Question

^ So, 'you' (Lee) speaks with his actions if you don't speak with your words?

Choosing to remain silent in certain moments can get you (Lee) killed.

Sometimes being silent is actually better. If you remain silent in the middle of Carley's reasoning for speaking about your past in episode 3, she gives an entirely different speech about it, which i think is better than her other one.

most of the time being silent is negative. Like between all the arguments of different groupmembers (lilly vs kenny, kenny vs christa etc etc) BOTH will hate you for not siding with someone instead of just one. Silent option is only viable in extremely few scenarios.

If you don't say anything when you're having that (one-sided, in this case) conversation with Carley on the balcony of the motor inn, she'll kiss you on the cheek and say "You're going to have to be more talkative if we're going to make this work."

Thought that was cute.
