Default The missing 3 months.

How cool would it be if TT and Kirkman combined to make a comic depicting the 3 months we missed at the motel.? Meeting mark. Arguing with Larry, flirting with Carley. I would buy that in a heart beat. What do you all think?

E: also the fights with the bandits.

The skipping of those 3 months implies that they were relatively uneventful.

But it wouldn't be the first time writers and developers used gaps in time to make DLC's.

For example:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution released an action packed DLC to fill what was originally uneventful trip aboard a cargo ship.

Anyway, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing how the characters developed during that time.

That would be awesome. I really wanted to see the bandit fights as well as meeting mark.

They did not know about the bandits until they meet the two in the woods on the way to the diary.

Totally agree. Didn't the group meet Mark during a supply run to Robins Air Force Base? It would be pretty cool to check that place out and get a sense of the military's efforts during the final days of civilization. Lilly and Larry could have an interesting part.

Even if they don't go to the air force base, it would still be awesome to get to know Mark as a character better.

I'd buy it. Any old excuse to get Lee, Kenny and Carley back. Mark also seemed a good guy in what little we saw of him, would like to meet him properly.

Yeah Mark just seem like a character you introduce so you have someone to kill off. And Kenny's still alive dammit.

I kind of got a pretty good sense of Mark from the get-go.

Mark was a gossip-hen who couldn't shoot and was the weakest of all the adults. He also was overly trusting of the St. John's, initially. (Frankly, I would have insisted Katjaa take care of me over Brenda. Maybelle could wait.)

I would like to see how he managed to be the sole survivor at the Air Force base, quite frankly.

I'd say he behaved worse than Ben, but without the justification that he was a teen rather than a grown man!

How did he behave worse than Ben?

Depending on how your conversation goes on the farm, mark does become cautious about the st.johns. " I just wanted to let you know if anything happens I got your back." That's mark being a great team member that can be trusted. He's a great character in my book.

1) gossiping with Lee like a cackling hen
2) telling Larry what Lee told him in confidence
3) weak without food. say what you want about Ben, he was never as physically weak as Mark, and he was hungry (he gobbled up the candy bar from Chuck in .25 seconds)
4) can't shoot - missed the bird
5) potentially shoots Travis, a young boy
6) blabbers about Katjaa to the St. Johns at the sight of food in .25 seconds
7) immediately trusts the St. Johns and wants to move everybody in prior to checking out the whole place
8) trusts Brenda over Katjaa, someone he knows to take the arrow out of his arm
9) drops the couch, barely manages to help with putting up the wall
10) complains about being hungry to Lee even if Lee feeds him and doesn't feed himself. talk about whiny, inconsiderate... ugh.
11) is a grown man with some military training (or whatever the chair force is?) and is as incompetent as a teen boy
12) lets Lilly downtalk him (You're only here because you had food) and doesn't stick up for himself

I'll try to think of more :P

(I don't hate Mark. I don't really hate any of the characters. But if you want to talk incompetent, I'd put him ahead of Ben.)

I don't think I got that option yet...

well, there's the one smart thing he said, at any rate. (besides knowledge of the chain's strength, if you bother trying to cut it off prior to cutting off Mr. Parker's leg)

He mentioned katja for the good of the group. He wasn't weaker than Ben. If that was the case he wouldn't have been chosen to go hunting/ inspect the farm. He was obviously trusted by everyone. And having the guts to call out Larry about giving lee shit takes some balls. No way in hell Ben would so that. Case closed Mark>Ben.

You have to remember with Mark is that he's spent a lot of time holed up in his air force base with plentiful supplies (enough to last the whole group months) so being this hungry is much newer to him. Lilly also seems to view him as an outsider so i doubt he got as big a share of the rations as the others, possibly excusing his weakness.

As for his shooting vs military training. Well it was a very tough shot and the only one we see him take IIRC. Not a big enough sample to judge him and i suspect he only took the shot through hunger.

I got a impression of a nice guy off him, but trying to look more in depth than that is hard with about 4 scenes.
