Today's New/Indie Gem Promo is the MSX-hard Metroidvania game La-Mulana for 60% off. However, that's not the end of the update! GOG has launched a new "buy bundle" feature on their store, where you can get a discount on certain games by buying all the games in the franchise! As of right now, the following game series have discounted bundles associated with them:

7th Guest
Alone in the Dark
Atlantis
Gabriel Knight
Journeyman Project
Kings' Quest
Space Quest
Longest Journey
Little Big Adventure
Phantasmagoria
Wadjet Eye Adventures
Runaway Series
Sam & Max Series
Simon the Sorcerer
Still Life
Syberia
Tex Murphy
Zork

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to what the sale price is for each series, however that may change if and when this feature leaves beta. Also, a cool feature of these bundles is that, if you already own some games in the bundle, you can buy the rest of the bundle at an even more reduced price.

I can't see any series-link deals on the pages for games I already own. That seems like a bit of a flaw.

For example: I already own the first two Tex Murphy games, but if I want to buy the rest of the series at the discounted price, I have to actually go to the page of one of the other games. Seems a bit long-winded.

(I know the other games in the series are shown lower down the page, but still...)

They're just testing it right now, I'm sure they're open to feedback on the feature. It might be wise to just bring it up with them and see if they can do it.

Hey, wanna hear a good joke? Daikatana for $5.99! Luckily, as if to make up for it (spoilers: it doesn't), you can also get Cannon Fodder 2 for $5.99.

This weekend, you can save 50% off of all Square Enix titles, except for Daikatana for obvious reasons. You know, can it really be called a Square Enix bundle if there are no Square Enix games available on GOG? It's all stuff they got from Eidos and other companies, there's nothing Square Enix made on there.

Also, This Week on GOG gives us the recap of the week and a clue for next week. Let's see, it's going to be released on Valentine's day, it's going to be a classic game, and it's going to have a "happy ending". I will not be hyped into thinking it's Love for Sail, I will not be hyped into thinking it's Love for Sail, I will not be hyped into thinking it's Love for Sail.

Ex-fucking-actly. Final Fantasy VII, just recently out anew with completely shitty DRM: THAT I would have bought without copy protection. But, noooooo. Because Square Enix is a copyright bitch.

At least it doesn't use Steam, right?

It's actually a double burn because I would buy it if it was on Steam. But it isn't.

Cloud's worse than Steam. And I've probably played the hell out of the PSX-FFVII before I sold it 14 years later for about the price I purchased it for back in '97, so no regrets.

No matter how much I'd need the money I would never sell my babies. Not even the ugly ones I -more or less- secretly don't like (e.g. Diablo III).

My PSX was outsourced as a permanent loan to a friend, so I couldn't play it anyway.

It wasn't actually the game itself that pumped money into my hands... it was the German walkthrough book. Sold for easily about three times its original worth. Crazy. Just because the price was printed on it in Deutschmarks only, and no € value to be found.

As for a replay: I can wait until Square Enix comes to their senses. You know I can. You get a lot of patience if you're the sworn enemy of DRM and piracy...

Yes. I know. Because I can too.
That's why I can never understand that the same thing plays on these forums when TTG releases something.
I go to bed, have a good night of sleep and either it is out or I wait patiently. No crying. No "I payed for it I wants it nowz!

I seldom have a good night of sleep. Weekends are exceptions though and... oh wait, it's actually Friday!

Ever since I'm working on my novel I've been having insomnia.

I can't even remember which thread this is.

It's kind of hard when all their accounts are from October or so.
