I finished some Slender mods. What a bad, bad, bad idea... When I'm coming home from school, I have to walk near a forest. It's really dark in the evening now cause it's winter, so I have to use a flashlight... You can only imagine how scary it all became xD

Primordia - 10/10

Beats out the somewhat disappointing, though still good Resonance, and just barely edges out Gemini Rue as my favorite Wadjet Eye adventure game. Seriously, seriously amazing writing on display here. I recognize a couple of the AGS modules in use, but the game is typically very original in the art department. None of the characters are grating, and you'll meet everyone from megalomaniacs to sleeping gods. Every bit of the world is fleshed out with an interesting back story, every major character features a detailed view of the world backed up by intelligent robotic logic, and the secondary characters all at least have memorable personalities. Unlike the asshole villain in Rue, you may find yourself agreeing with this one. Unfortunately, I wish the game had allowed for more of a moral grey area by the end, but the game pushes you a bit toward being too unnerved by the antagonist to side with it.

It's also possibly better than any Telltale game I've played (haven't beaten TWD), and though similar, I'd say it beats out Beneath a Steel Sky too.

I guess this means I have to go buy this game now. I mean, if it beats out Gemini Rue...

Assassin's Creed 3

8.5/10

I really enjoyed it,but I didn't think some parts were as good as others.

They're very similar games in structure, but Primordia has something that Gemini Rue doesn't have. Crispin Horatiobuilt, v. 1.

Mark Of The Ninja 9/10

Finally made it through New Game+ mode and got all achievements. Not too easy I might add. The game itself is wonderful in every way but one: The way it saves the checkpoints. In my 24-25 hours of playtime I had about 5 situations where a checkpoint moved me in a spot right next to an enemy. If you want full score you might as well restart the whole level at that point because the alarm will be triggered and you might have a hard time getting out of there alive.

Umjammer Lammy (Lammy's Story) -8/10

Yesterday i finally got Umjammer Lammy on the Playstation Store and i'll start off by saying that the game has far better timing than Parappa 1! Almost all the songs were great too but i don't like Stage 4 or 6's songs. Also Retrovortex was right when he said watch out for Stage 3, It's hard. I would say Stage 3 & 6 gave me the most trouble to beat. Also another cool feature is being able to play as Parappa after beating the levels with Lammy.

Broken Sword III - The Sleeping Dragon - 7/10

I've wanted to play this one for ages. The story is schlocky, but fun. It reminded me of a Sci-Fi Channel original at times, though. There were some parts that seemed to make no sense or not fit with the rest of the game. The Egypt section, especially. What the hell? How the hell does Anubis and Osiris fit in with a medieval dragon and the Voynich Manuscript, Revolution? George becoming a knight was worth it, but why the hell are the Neo-Templars suddenly good guys? The puzzles were great, but 80% of them involved pushing blocks. Then again, so did Ocarina of Time. The villain was a scary version of Christopher Walken from that James Bond movie. Loved Suzarro. The characters were just as great as ever, but weird in that Broken Sword way. The controls were great. I loved how the game handled interactions and inventory usage. I loved the finale. The art design reminded me a lot of Eternal Darkness, especially in the lighting and some of the locations. The best part, as always with BS games, was the sound design. I love those chimes the game plays whenever there's danger. And I loved the music. I really want to play BS4 now. George's narration in these reminds me of MacGyver. One part made me a little teary-eyed.

L.A. Noire - 8/10

Fantastic graphics and voice acting; good story; and the cases were very interesting and suck you in.

However, the reasons why the lead protagonist did certain things regarding his personal life were left unanswered, and although it should seem typical of this kind of game, be it noire genre or from Rockstar, I still would have liked a happy ending, or at least to have taken down the whole group and not just part of it.

Red Dead Redemption - 8/10

Story missions are very good; voice acting, music and graphics are top notch; stranger missions are decent to good.

Although there's a lot to do outside of the story, I got tired of trying to be completionist as hunting animals and picking herbs for the challenges/outfits was getting really tedious and boring.

Recommended. Just don't try too hard to complete everything.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - 10/10

Reminds me of Super Metroid, except you have a sword and can turn into a wolf, a bat, and a cloud of gas. I finished the game with 200.2% map completion recorded.

People say this is likely the best Castlevania game ever made, and I will not dispute them. The game world is huge; the gameplay is fun; and the difficulty ramps up nicely and encourages me to level, yet it tapers off so that at the end I'm pwning everyone like they're made of butter (thanks to my level 99 sword familiar)... good times.

[EDIT:] Oh, and if you beat the game with one of the good endings as Alucard, you can start a new game as Richter Belmont. Gameplay as Richter is quite different from Alucard, so this gives quite a good reason to play through twice.[/EDIT]

Buy this game on XBLA or PSN. Please. You won't regret it.

Heh. Despite owning it twice (on xbla and in PSP via Dracula X Chronicles), I still have yet to actually properly play through SOTN. XD

Q.U.B.E. - 7/10

I like puzzle games and this game had a lot of varied ones. They were challenging enough without getting frustrating yet complex enough to need some thorough thinking to get them solved. It’s got pretty graphics and a nice environment even if it is leaning close up against Portal. It even has a nice soundtrack to go with it. The only few gripes I got with it is a lack of story and involvement with the character you were playing and the game was kind of short. I took me about 4-5 hours to complete, but I guess it depends on how good you are with puzzles.

Serious Sam 2 - 7/10

It's not just a fun game; it's a really fun game. The core elements of Serious Sam is kept intact, shoot millions of varied monsters with a lot of varied guns, where both guns and monsters come in all shapes and sizes. I was a bit unsure of some of their decisions to the changes to some of the recurring monsters, like the red Biomechanoid and the Beheaded Kamikaze. Well at least it had original Kleers.
It had some strange graphics, graphical glitches (like not being able to run up stairs properly). The heavy metal music was changed dramatically and the game was less ‘Serious’.
But none of this takes away the important fact, it was fun.

Serious Sam 3: BFE - 9/10

Oh. My. God! This game was utter amazing. They have really gone a long way since Serious Sam HD and even more so with Serious Sam 2. It goes back to its roots with enhanced graphics and a great musical score.
Sam is as fun as always, and the background story sets up first and second encounter nicely.

Simon the Sorcerer 3D - 2/10

Fuck this game. Just... fuck it.

(The only reason it got a 2 was for the very final puzzle, which was so good I dare not spoil it)

Does that mean we can expect the continuation of your let's play soon? Can't wait.

That must really have been a damn good puzzle.

I wasn't able to finish the game for over a year because of that puzzle, in that I didn't realise until after much searching that a certain setting on my computer stopped the puzzle from working correctly.

I had the same thing, actually. I had to fiddle around with my settings and reset the computer a few times before I just got lucky. Thank god for walkthroughs.

Duke Nukem Forever - 3/10

I gave the game an honest go, but no matter how hard I tried I could not force my self to like it. Not even honestly complete it, but that is just how bad it is. What a waste of money that was...

If I have to come up with one positive thing, it's got good graphics.

Tomb Raider: Origins (as I call it) - 8/10

Great game. Very much like Uncharted, which may or may not be a good thing. Not sure. Played well, the combat was fun, the climbing was enjoyable, and it had a strong plot. Would recommend.

Lost a point for some clumsily hidden collectables (well, shootables to be exact), not having enough Tombs to Raid (the best bits since they had actual puzzles to solve, simple as they were) and for being a shade too short.

DLC Quest - 7/10

Short, simple, fun. Original bit's better than the second quest, but not by much.

Fester Mudd: Curse of the Gold Episode 1 - 4/5. It's an homage to classic adventure games done right. The graphic style is straight out of the 1990's, and the game play style is too. It's very much an homage to games like Monkey Island (and a nod to Sierra games like Freddy Pharkas and Leisure Suit Larry, although the game is very LucasArts, from it's interface to the fact that you can't get stuck or die).

It's co-designed by Josh Mandel (of Space Quest 6 and Freddy Pharkas fame, among others), and it shows. It's got some funny moments (and a lot of the humor comes in the item descriptions). Best of all, the puzzles are really well designed, and have a lot of times where puzzles need to be solved and/or people need to be talked to before new locations and/or puzzles open up (but this is all done in a very natural way). The story's interesting, but it's more of a set up for what's to come. There's also no voice acting, but the rest of the game makes up for it in my opinion.

My full review is here if you're interested.
