Default [TWD] Thanks Telltale for providing ZERO customer support.

So I haven't seen a single post from telltale regarding The Walking Dead save problems people are having other than "Yeah, we know about it" and they have made zero effort to try and fix this. I currently have 28 saves staring at me and because Telltale can't even handle basic file management, I can't access them. I've tried everything when it comes to restoring my sales.

Would it really be that hard to release a tool that lets you read data from these save files and generate a new one? Are you really that bad of developers you can't provide basic support, and simply leave it to the community to deal with it?

Would it really be that hard to store our saves on the cloud? You do connection stuff when the game starts, why not up/download our saves?

I give up, never buying another Telltale product again. What an embarrassment.

I'm getting close to demanding a refund for my game. Was able to play episodes 1 and 2, and haven't been able to play since the release of episode 3 due to the crashing problem. NOTHING I have tried has helped. The game is completely broken for me, and no one can help me. If something isn't done soon, I'll be joining the "never buying another Telltale product again" club.

Same with me, tried everything this forum (and Google) has given me. Copying prefs.prop, timestamps, re-install, everything. I also looked at the prefs.prop but being a binary file I really don't feel like decompiling it.

After having played through most of the telltale games I'm really surprised that they messed up like this with TWD. It's the first time in 25 years of gaming that I really lost all my progress (I was able to get it to load the episode 4 chapter I was last at but unfortunately the game doesn't keep my decisions for season 5, totally screwed up).

With the support more or less ignoring the massive problems I'd advise people to try contacting the responsible developers:

If you are successful in your refund, please let me know. I am shocked by the non-existant customer service. I meet the minimum requirements and the game doesn't work, and there is no help to be found.

I've basically given up too. Worst gaming experience ever. At least now I know to check support forums before buying a game... because had I seen all these unanswered threads before I bought it - I wouldn't have.

I have a post where I bumped a whole week with posts asking for some help, and a forum admin deleted all my bumps from my thread. Still no help. However, here is their office line.

I agree, there is no support from telltale for the walking dead. I just want my money back now, I would rather play the game, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Maybe that will help. I've given up for now.
I wouldn't recommend contacting them on Facebook, whether or not they should be posting back on here or taking care of these problems, pestering them there will probably serve only to piss them off.

I believe I am more pissed off than they ever will be.

Yeah I have to agree with this thread. I'm not normally one to go all ranty on a companies tech support, but the level of support has been kind of disappointing. I've been surprised at how complicated workarounds have been worked out by the userbase for bugs, which go unpatched or even commented on by the developers.

Well, I tried to contact Randy Tudor but "surprisingly" he didn't reply. The issue here is that I'm not even sure they know of this massive number of problems. Being a software developer myself I usually don't have time to proactively search for user reports, I work on whatever tickets I get in our project management software.

I don't know the workflow at Telltale but I guess there are mostly community managers, maybe QA guys going through this forum and I wouldn't be sure that this gets relayed to the employees that need to know about the savegame problems.

To be honest, I myself would be ashamed if the software I wrote corrupts data, data which cost people up to 12 hours of their life. So while I usually don't care about minor bugs as long as they are somewhat solvable this is the first time in 25 years of gaming I'm really annoyed. Imagine something like this happening on a 100+ hours playthrough of Skyrim. Yes, the Internet would be all over Bethesda. So we shouldn't allow Telltale to get by with this.

I am a software developer as well - on the one hand, I wouldn't like a client contacting me on Facebook about problems with the software I work on - on the other hand, I don't think it would ever come down to that because I regularly stay on top of bug reports and my work email...so if I was in their shoes here I wouldn't blame you guys.

However I would still recommend contacting them by their office lines and any other emails, forum PMs, that kind of thing. I don't think that they aren't aware of these issues, as they have obviously replied to many of these threads (albeit with cookie cutter responses that don't actually help). It's more that they just don't seem to actually care but hey, maybe pestering them on Fb and pissing them off a little is the only way to get them to care about staying on top of these problems...
