I just got my 4850 1GB today and had no problems. But here's what's strange. Some values are different (bold), but it might have to do something with me running Vista 32bit instead of XP:
Driver Packaging Version 8.62-090520m1-0817
55C-ATI Catalyst™ Version 09.6 Provider ATI echnologies Inc.
2D Driver Version
8.01.01.909
2D Driver File Path System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{BCFB6305-DB02-43B3-BCC3-5B472E9CA5FA}/0000
Direct3D Version
8.14.10.0671
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.8673
Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2009.0520.1631.27815
I downloaded my Version from
computerbase, because AMDs download site didn't work.
Since it happens in Windows 7 and XP I could imagine that it is hardware related. Is your Graphics card in any way overclocked, or is the voltage altered?
You might also check your memory with

I am just guessing, but it's better than doing nothing.
