I wonder if they're going to offer a free game with SOMI, it would definitely convince me to get it again after playing it so many times before.

From my recent reintroduction to Steam(it's gotten to the point where it's convenient for me for a few select games), Steam can be a real pain in the ass when it hasn't finished updating or it has an update queued. I noticed this on a recent trip, I had no online connection and Steam wouldn't run in offline mode because it wanted to install some update. Since then, I've made sure that I can run the client in offline mode while the internet is disconnected beforehand when it comes to my laptop, and have just decided to buy games I want to play online anyway when it comes to my desktop(Civ IV and other multiplayer titles). The update thing annoys the hell out of me.

The problem for me is that stuff like that means that I have to think about my games also when I'm not currently playing and that's something I do not want to do. Plan ahead when I'm leaving home? For games? It's tough enough to get my work files onto the internal HDD from their various on- and offline locations, I don't want to worry about my games too.

My normal games collection is simply parked on my internal HDDs as ISOs that I mount when I want to play. I'm not interested in PC online gaming anyway (got my PS3 for that) and updates for games are nothing you really have to worry about with most single player games...
