Default Just finished Tales Of Monkey Island

I know there are probally a few appreciation threads already but i thought this game deserved another one.

I played the first chapter when it was first released but it wasnt until my DVD arrived that me and my girlfriend sat down and played it all the way through. Finally finished it yesterday and i must admit, it is one of my favourite adventure games ever. I really enjoyed the experiance and i want more!

Dominics voice contribution was brilliant, i really felt this was his best performance! The other voice acting was very good too.

The graphics and effects were amazing aswell, i couldnt have asked for anything different.

The humour - i laughed and laughed throughout Tales and the characters were all great! To be honest i wasnt a fan of Murray but in this game he really made me laugh and ive grown to like him.

Overall a fantastic job done by Telltale, very well polished game, and from this i will most likely be buying the Sam&Max seasons too. Hopefully we can have Tales of Monkey Island 2?

From a very satisfied customer

I fee exactly the same! I'm sure there are lots of people that still say the past games of MI series are slightly better, but to me, TMI is the best MI game so far. I especially like the way Guybrush has matured and the story was just great. I know LucasArts still owns MI licence, but I really hope Telltale team will make another episodes of TMI in the very near future.

It is always nice to hear more and new people say good things about Monkey Island.
The game is getting the good reputation it deserves, and more fans are found everyday.

I my self is a new made Monkey Island fan, and that is all thanks to ToMI.
I do enjoy all of the others, but the turns the story in ToMI takes makes it my favorite.

So welcome to the Monkey Island fandom, and welcome to the best Monkey Island related forum on the internet.

Just played through the last episode as well.

The beginning was boring. As soon as you could leave the abyss things got more interesting and there were two nice riddles. I liked Guybrush and Le Chuck in this one. But boy these episode had some of the worst artificial game enlargements i've ever played through. As TTG has experienced designers, i find it disturbing that they create such annoying&cheap-walk-around-and-repeat-situations.

Anyway nice that i finally played through it. It crashed almost ten times on me on the Mac.

The game only has two major flaws :

Abusive use of the same models over and over, which truly ruins the immersion

and Abusive use of the same puzzle mechanic.

Ok maybe a third one would be the controls...

Except for that, it's a wonderful game. The music (while being trashed because of the Wii) is amazing, the characters true to themselves, the story is very interesting, light and dark at the same time, there are amazing scenes...

I really loved it !

Finally had the money to buy Tales a week or so ago (I hate being a poor college student) and finished it over this last weekend. I was solidly hooked from the beginning, but Episode 4 and 5 had me pretty much glued to my Macbook. The whole game was awesome and has a solid place in my top three games.

If I have one nitpick to make, it's that the game sort of lagged for me during the navigate the jungle bits, but I didn't get lost enough for it truly bog the game down overmuch.

I finished it over the course of a day and a half . I've been getting ready to move so, despite having had the game for a bit, I didn't really have a chance to play it until this last weekend and even then I was interrupted a few times.
