Out From Boneville Dominic Armato Interview- Alternative Magazine Online

Hey guys!

For people who previously read my Alexandra Boyd interview, and my TOMI episode 1 review, my Dominic Armato interview has now gone live: http://alternativemagazine.wordpress...ominic-armato/

It was a great pleasure to talk to him! I hope it provides an enjoyable read. Also, please feel free to leave any comments (no signup required) and check out the rest of the site. It is soon due to be redesigned and relaunched thanks to excellent viewing figures, but that can only continue with your constant support! Cheers

No problem! Thanks for replying!

UPDATE early readers may want to revisit the end of the interview. Dom is a perfectionist and just emailed me with a greatly expanded answer to the final question. It provides a great read!

I think it will definitely happen Joe! Although I of course know why it won't make you as happy as some folks!

I personally really liked the SMI special edition, but it is the idea of MI2 gettin this treatment that truly excites me... I think apart from dated graphics that it is one of the greatest adventures Lucasarts ever made! Fully voiced with some extra graphical gloss could prove spectacular...

If the art is done right it'll be good. I'm no graphics geek but I do think that the art style needs to match the game and SMI:SE didn't.

One thing that strikes me in MI2 is the melancholic feel, and I don't think a glorious HD remake will manage to recreate that. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, I don't know. But I'm yet to see a good remake - of anything.

A lot of people seem to find the remade graphics of the Secret Of Monkey Island disappointing, yet I really liked them! I do feel though that if they do the second one they should try and be slightly more stylistic in their choices, like Curse Of Monkey Island was in the past. I would love seeing the second game with voices though!

Thanks Steverin0 for the kind words, Dom told me this morning he enjoyed the interview because the questions were not the same old ones he gets asked all the time, so it is nice to be getting such positive feedback!

Thanks! Means a lot, it also seems to be on scummbar.com, very exciting!

I wish I knew how to submit the Alexandra Boyd interview in the same way.

Oh and some more news! Dom really liked the interview, so we worked something out. Now, after every episode, he will do a mini-interview of aprox 5 episode-specific questions. Thanks for all the support!

Hey guys thanks so much for all of the positive feedback. This interview alone has created the busiest day I have ever seen for my little site.

I hope to expand in the coming weeks in the following ways:
1. Take on more writers
2. Get more interviews (the feedback on Dominic and Alex has been great!)
3. Buy the domain (so the site will not be wordpress/alternativemagazineonline etc) and also redesign the look and layout.
4. I may also see if I can offer a subscription where a mini-pdf magazine will be sent out once a month. (Film/game/book reviews etc)
5. I want the site to have a growing consistent readership, so I am looking into Facebook, twitter etc, so that people will constantly be updated on new content.

I have had great feedback from you guys, the voiceactors I have interviewed, and even Charles Cecil (creator of Broken Sword). I really hope this can continue into the future, and I want to express my gratitude!

Sadly, News 4 Gamers has filtered out my interview, as it is on a wordpress blog and is therefore now not deemed a "proper" site. This has no doubt limited its readership, although jp-30(a member of the forums here) managed to submit the story to some Monkey Island fansites so I want to thank him again, it really helped to expose the story to its core audience. I am not merely chasing traffic, I really do feel great when the hard work put in pays off. I am glad the community here has helped to do just that, so thanks!

Hiya, I am a news writer for mixnmojo, and any Monkey Island news on Mojo is automaticaly reproduced on The Scumm Bar site. I'll update with The Alexandra Boyd interview when I get a chance later today.

Feel free to PM me in future if you have something you'd think would be of interest to Mojo/Scumm Bar readers (like when your mini Dom interviews go live).

That was extremely cool, moreso now because Dom's agreed to do a whole series of interviews! But most of all, because we now finally have a decent, recent picture of him.
