Telltale Texas Hold'Em Elusive Collector's DVD

Ok, I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this. I have all of the S&M Season 1 games. And I really would like to get the season 1 collector's DVD.

However . . .

Being oblivious to TT at the time, I bought eps 1-3 from Wal-Mart. Then, when I loved them, I bought the rest from TT's site. As I understand it, this makes me ineligible for the DVD.

I'm just not willing to pay full price for the season to get the DVD, so is there another way to become eligible for the free DVD? The only thing I can think of is to use free game coupons as I get them to get the games that are missing on my account, but I'm not even sure how much I want to do that. Would it even work? Is there another way? Does anyone know?

You could buy the season upgrade which is slightly cheaper than buying the whole DVD and then you'd qualify for the DVD for free (plus shipping)

There is a retail release that only contains episodes 1 through 3, it's usually in bargain software places.

It's supposed to be like a sampler. I bought one for my cousin last year at Target for around $7.50

Yeah, this is what it looks like. Got it for like 10 bucks at Wal-Mart. I partially got it because I saw the "Adventure Company" logo on it, which I've had a soft spot in my heart for ever since they came out with Siberia. In retrospect, I'm really not sure what Adventure Co. has to do with this release, though. Haven't seen it around for a while. Interestingly enough, there was a Monkey Island that came out bargain style, too, not too long ago. Unfortunately, then, I didn't know what it was, or I would have gotten it. I can't remember which of the games it was, though.

At this point I'm only missing two games from the series. Does anyone know if getting the last two games would make me eligible for getting the DVD? Or is it an "all at once or nothing" kind of deal?

Adventure Co. was the publisher for the retail release in the US.

I wish they wouldn't do stuff like that. Its misleading to have a game produced by one company with the logo of another company on it. And I know its done all the time, and I am grateful that it leads to the publication of games that might not otherwise see this kind of market, I almost certainly wouldn't have gotten into Sam and Max without this kind of thing, I just think there should be clarification on who made it and whose publishing it.

It's not misleading. All you need to know is that those companies all had a hand at getting the game on the shelf. Tell Tale's name is there too.

Hey, at least Adventure Co. let TTG put their logo on the front of the case. Ubisoft buries it on the back in tiny print on the CSI games.

A lot of bigname companies like Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and several others hide the heck out of the actual developers logo so it's hard to tell who made the game. It really irritates me because it seems the average game player is still quite oblivious to what company makes the games they play, which is something I think is important.

At any rate, Nimeni, it sucks that you don't qualify for the DVD. But it sounds like the DVD you bought at Walmart was pretty cheap. So if you do decide to buy the upgrade, you aren't actually out that much more money overall, than the rest of us.

This is true. I knew there was a reason I liked Adventure Company. I do appreciate them putting it right on the front in plain sight.

I realize it doesn't end up being quite as big of a loss, but it is still frustrating. Ah, well. We'll just have to see if I feel like forking out the bucks just for the DVD. Are the bonus features really good? Do you guys think its worth it? I only have two more games I'd have to buy, I believe.
