Default What could be next...?

Now that we live in a world where there is a new MI, with the potential for even more sequels, i think its safe to say that nothing is impossible.
So... what next?
Telltale have hinted about the possibility of a Dr. Who game, Dave Grossman has expressed interest in LOOM (awesome!), i'm sure a new Day of the Tentacle isn't out of the question... all in all, it seems like there is a bright future ahead of us What other series do you dream of telltale reviving? Here is my list:
-Space Quest (done in the Sierra design aesthetic, with Gary Owens as the Narrator and lots of hilariously gruesome deaths)
-Discworld
-Asterix (a little obscure for non-europeans, but full of potential)
-and most of all... Simpsons! My head would explode if that ever happened

underfist the game. There are 5 members(Irwin, Hoss, Skar, Jeff, and Fred Fredburger) and there are usually 5 episodes. Each episode, you play as a different character to save the world. since there was originally going to be a sequal, maybe this series could be it.

Where have TTG hinted at a Doctor Who game?

I personally hope this never happens.

Leave. Now.

There was an interview in which Telltale's CEO Dan Conners said that the team would like to make a Doctor Who game. You can read about it here. I for one think something like that could work really well, as do a lot of other people here.

I just really dislike the show - cheap and tacky.

Us Brits dont make shows like they do over the pond.

(IMO)

Default Hmmm...

Episodic versions of highly visible sci-fi properties like Star Wars/Star Trek could be interesting but they are both being turned into major upcoming MMOGs right now (The Old Republic and Star Trek Online). Frankly, Doctor Who is a more likely choice as I don't know of any more game development going on for that particular series. However, I wonder what Doctor they'd use.

Personally, I'd kinda like something set in the time of the Eighth Doctor for three reasons: the new series leaves a LOT of questions in that era, Paul McGann deserves more than just the TV movie, and since America is responsible for the TV movie, we should try to improve on it before taking on the Whoniverse as a whole (as least, that's how I feel - we should prove we can do Who right). However, it might be better to portray the Fifth, Sixth, or Seventh Doctor as they never really used the sonic screwdriver (that thing would make the game WAY too easy unless its uses were severely limited).

He's got more than just the TV movie--there's a whole series of audio-plays set in the Eighth Doctor's era. They're quite good, too...though I think how canon they are in relation to the rest of the series is somewhat in doubt.

Yeah, I'm aware of the audio dramas and various novels, but I still feel McGann deserves more (in-canon or not, but preferably in). I do agree with the overall lack of an Eighth-to-Ninth regeneration, though.

If you reveal something, you ruin the mystery of it. I like not knowing how exactly the eighth Doctor regenerated into the Ninth. I like to imagine it as a final sacrifice - he destroyed both the Daleks and the Time Lords, himself included, to end the Time War.

If you're referring to the original series, then fair enough, it could be seen as both cheap and tacky at times. Perfectly enjoyable if you're in the right mindset though.

If you meant the new series, then seriously, get out. New-Who is anything but cheap - it costs around a million pounds an episode. As for tacky... well, that's open to interpretation, but I wouldn't call it that either. At times it deals with some very adult themes in an extremely mature way, mostly by way of one Steven Moffat. Seriously, Blink was one of the best 45 minutes of television in 2008.

If you don't like Doctor Who, then I'd really like to know why. Not so I can tell you you're wrong (honest!) , but so I can try to see things from your point of view. Just dismissing it as 'not as good as American shows' is petty and just plain wrong. It's better then a fair few shows made across the pond.

I don't think a Star Wars adventure game would work. If it is Star Wars there are just certain aspects that have to be in the game such as blasters and light sabers, and I just don't think a Star Wars game would work without an acceptable amount of action. I could see Star Trek though

If we're talking good Star Wars games, there's the X-Wing series, the Dark Forces/Jedi Knights series, Republic Commando, Episode I Racer, Knights of the Old Republic I + II and (questionably) The Force Unleashed.

Even in a series as bad as the Star Wars one, there are some shining gems, provided you're willing to look hard enough.

Not only would the rights not be up for grabs, but Dave Grossman and Mike Stemmle have both told me part of the reason they left LucasArts/started TTG is because they were tired of Star Wars games. I doubt that means they'd bother asking Lucas for rights, especially when they've expressed interest in other LucasArts IPs.

If I could choose one LucasArts franchise for TTG to do, the obvious choice is Day of the Tentacle. Hands down. But I wonder, do you think LucasArts is going to redo DOTT and rerelease it like they did the original MI? DOTT on Steam and a few new episodes would be so epic I might swoon myself to death.

No joke, man. Republic Commando is easily in my top 5 Star Wars games. Heck, probably top 3; I'd have to sit down and think about it. A better, more lovable squad was never created.

Oh, don't worry, there are plenty of Star Wars games that I absolutely love! It's just that of late there has been a lot of crap as well...
