Mmm...i think Guybrush will start doubting about the Voodo Lady intentions at some point in the game, but at the end we will see she is not a villian.

I always saw the Voodo Lady as a neutral character, not good but not evil, she is very helpfull but she knows more of what she really tells.

I know he is a Harry Potter guy but not sure who.

Is he the bad guy that kicks the butt of Harry´s poor old professor?

Or is he the good guy whose ass is kicked by Tim Burton´s wife?

The Voodoo Lady as the Villain?!

Okay, her laughter in the intro of "Siege of Spinner Cay" was quite disturbing. I don't know what to make of that...
And sometimes, the advice she gave Guybrush didn't seem like the best thing to do. But I think some of your arguments are a little far-fetched.

E.g.

I think the only reason why she's worried about that is because it's impossible for her to "track down" LeChuck without any voodoo on him.

She never did track him down, why would she want to now?

I personally believe that the Voodoo Lady always had a kind of agenda, and possibly not a very decent one. The thing to ponder is her connection with Coronado and La Esponja Grande. Coronado writes in is journal (prize from treasure hunting) that "she'll love him for this". Yet, she points out that "he became obsessed" with it and seems very displeased with his decision. Why would she need Esp. Gr. ? There was no pox back then...

The Voodoo Lady has a chain store selling, among other things, voodoo-neutralising lotions. Having access to a strong anti-voodoo ingredient is good for business.

She said in the first episode that she can only observe people who have a 'voodoo mark' on them - if LeChuck is out of voodoo, she's blind to him...I guess?.

The tricky part of this theory is that her actions could go either way. She could just be a very helpful person who sends Guybrush on dangerous quests, knowing that he'll turn out okay and just not tell him or it could be part of something more sinister.

An important aspect to consider when looking at her past actions in previous games, is that the developers weren't crafting out for her be a villain when doing Escape. They make up the story as they go along. So the writers would have to look at her past actions and then create this whole plot in tales. Other than that, her being evil would never have been imagined of prior to tales. So that also makes it a bit tricky since all the other games were led by other people. Ron Gilbert may have suggested something, but that's a stretch.

I really don't like this theory...
Sure it would be quite a twist, but a very cheap one i think.
And, have you ever played the previous games ? Her character has always been mysterious and a bit menacing. She's not supposed to be your friend, nor your ennemy...

when playing ch 1 another time thinking she is the villian, it seemed so obvious that she were the bad guy, like when you tell her Lechuck is human, she screams WHAAAAAAAT!!! angered, why would she do that? and she just isnt that friendly :P she is also hiding AWFULLY lot of things in her little shack

Well, it indicated that LeChuck was not destroyed and beyond that, all his accumulated evil was spreading throughout the entire Caribbean turning people into evil villains capable of unspeakable acts.

Telltale IS known for making seemingly good guys the bad villains.

Examples: Hugh Bliss and the Soda Poppers

Obviously the real villain will be Voodoo lady's old love. So far everything hints that he is not quite right in his head either...
