Oh, the Hugh Manatee!

What am I supposed to with it? It must be the clue to the whereabouts of the "cranky fish" summoning artefact (I already have the seahorse and the turtle), but I have no idea what to do with it.

Offering fish eggs to the hole seems to give a clue of sorts, Guybrush's response is along the lines of "there must be a better way to the manatee's stomach" (hint, hint), but I have no idea where to go from there?

I can only think it's something to do with the fish I can't seem to catch at the well. Guybrush seems to give another clue here, hinting that he needs better bait but I have no idea how to get that.

Am I thinking along the right lines? I'm sure I've visited every possible location and tried using all my inventory items on everything and everyone else, although I've obviously missed something!

Hints (not just the solution) would be much appreciated.

Pretty much... maybe you can motivate the manatee to give you something valuable by bribing it with something that belongs to its owner.

You must not have tried everything. I had the same situation by the way and after turning hints on i got the right idea and thought i had already tried it.
