I played it in 1920x1080 on my 47" LCD TV and it was gorgeous.

I've also played the original on the same TV, and while it was fun too, it showed its age.

I loved the background art in the original, but this just looks like a hobbyist flash-game to me, HD or not. And I'm not just talking about the really gross stuff like copy&paste-jungle or the old graphics peeking over the new (tree stumps), but the art style just doesn't do it for me. Resolution won't change that.
