Spoilers! Why doesn't Morgan have the pox?

If this has been discussed before, I'm sorry, but "pox" is apparently too short a word for the search to find.
Why haven't Morgan or De Singe contracted the pox? They've both been exposed to Guybrush's cursed hand for long periods of time, you'd think they'd be sick by now. Even Winslow finally caught it; is it literally a disease that only affects pirates?

Maybe it's not contagious.

That way you could only get it from the airborne virus. If Morgan wasn't in the Gulf Of Melange when the virus was first released then she may have been safe from it.

Or some people have more of a delay. Winslow didn't get it till this episode. Or maybe because they're not pirates. (Scientist and pirate hunter.) While the glass blower was formally a pirate.

P.S. What would Do'ro be like with the pox?...

I'd agree. Don't they mention it somewhere? That this is a desease that only pirates can get?
I cannot remember, I'm not so observant

If the pox does affect only the pirates (So Elaine is officially a pirate? Good to know), and we know it warps their minds then it seems LeChuck might be building himself an undead pirate armada. Maybe Guybrush will have to join forces with De Singe and Morgan to bring down LeChuck. And the Voodoo Lady, probably. (Hey, weren't we supposed to learn her true name this season? I thought for sure De Cava would have been the one to reveal it.)

P.S. I mean the Voodoo Lady will help him bring down LeChuck, not that Guybrush would have to fight the Voodoo Lady and LeChuck. My bad.

Were we? When did that come up? (I honestly don't know if we will or not, this is just the first I have heard of it. It's hard to keep track of everything!)

What if her real name was Lady Voodoo?

Hmm, now that I look, I can't find where I saw that. I could've sworn I read it in the private pirate forum ... eh, one less thing for you guys to worry about.

Lady Voodoo, Comtesse des Loas? I never realized she was a member of the peerage, or that the Caribbean had a peerage.

I can't remember there has been a promise or something that her name would be revealed. I didn't expect De Cava to give it away either.

One little funny thing I noticed in that context though:
When asked what her name is in TMI, she replies that "names have power" whereas in CMI, which I recently played again, she replies to the same question with "names have little importance".

She also said in CMI that she is known under different names on different islands - now THAT revelation is going to be interesting...

In LeChuck's Revenge, there was a clue in then Voodoo book to her name. I think it hinted her name was Helen, but I could be remembering it wrong.

Yeah I've been wondering about Morgan (apparently) not having the pox. Maybe you're right about the theory that only pirates can catch it. Though I'm not sure if Elaine can really be referred to as a pirate. But she's not the governor anymore, is she?

Yes, I remembered that, too, and thought it was pretty strange, especially the first of your discoveries. I was going to post about this somewhere, but you beat me to it. Well, with the "names have little importance", she was making fun of him (though she wouldn't admit it).

Huh?! I don't remember that at all! What kind of hint?

IIRC there was some reference to an "Auntie Helen" in the Voodoo book's description which seemed to be about the Voodoo Lady. I could very well have remembered that wrong though.

Hemlock McGee was an explorer(til his legs were cut off by DeSinge)trying to find the source of the winds. Was he also a pirate too? He said that he wasn't able to continue his work because of the loss of his legs.

So many questions! Are drunks automatically pirates?

Actually in many cultures names were considered powerful and could be used to hold power over your. People would have a "real" or secret name that was not usually used or known by those outside of your family. The story of Rumplestilzken is an example of knowing someone's name and using that knowledge to manipulate them.

I doubt that only pirates can catch it because it looks like the judge has the pox.

De Singe has a cure because he has the poxed hand. And he's working with Morgan and therefore she can't get the pox either.
