This is why adventure games just aren't that popular with the kids these days. No patience and the need for instant gratification.
Back in the "old days" we didn't even have walkthroughs or forums to get help with games when we got stuck. If your friend, or your friend's friend didn't know the answer (and you didn't want a beating from your parents for calling a "1-900" hint line), you had to tough it out. Even if it took a whole evening to solve one puzzle.
I sure don't miss those days! lol
Well, actually it
was fun leaving the computer on overnight downloading
one game onto a floppy disk..... at
300 bits per second. Greased lightning! (For you youngsters, typical
modern dial-up tops off at
56,000 bits per second... and you have the whole internet, not some dude's computer in his basement filled with pirated games and "ascii art" of Snoopy and half-naked women). And if you were lucky, you'd wake up in the morning to find it finished. Or you lost your connection 30 minutes after you went to bed.
Man, I sound old. I'm really not that old. I kind of miss those days, and kind of don't.
