Actually, for the first person to be infected (hinted to be because of his close proximity to the pox explosion in the 1st episode), Guybrush seems much more resistant compared to the other characters whose infection seemed much more severe (and who raged out more often) than he did. It didn't even affect his skin until Ep 3, and by that time he met many characters who had given over completely to the pox. And Elaine seemed remarkably healthy as well, despite being close to the explosion, and only showed symptoms after she gave the ring away. She seemed great until after that. So you may have a point. I think it is meant to say something about Guybrush's innate goodness or something. Who knows?
