I also meant to say... why should an online store be any different to a high street store? It makes sense to reduce older items or provide multibuy discounts.

sorry bub.. mission failure

even if one thinks it.. and millions dont.. its true.. in this case.. many people here are already complaining about the WG price cuts and the sam n max cuts since the cons vs the site..
So being 9 months old still counts as new? That's interesting. Everyone on earth knows that if you buy right away, it will sooner or later become a bit cheaper than what you paid for it. As someone has already said, initial demand for a product on release is very high so they can justify a higher price point, once sales drop off considerably and they want to move their remaining product, they will drop the price as an incentive to boost sales. If you don't want to pay more for things, never buy on release. Buying something on release in no way qualifies you to complain about later price drops, because as a consumer you should already understand that price drops are an inevitability.

(Not only that but I wouldn't even consider the Sam and Max deal a "price drop" since you have to buy 2 statues at once to get the deal)

Ick, I just saw the photo of the statue. If they recreate the original box art guybrush, sword, eyeball necklace, pose and all in the form of a resin statue (1/6 scale) I would totally shell out major $$ for that. The whole damn diorama from Lechuck's Revenge cover would be a stretch but it would be a fanboy's dream come true.

pale.. again you arent agreeing to disagree.. which is infantile, If even one person thinks so it is.. ever hear of that expression. (sorta side digression but still)
If you think anyone in usa has no right to complain, you already lost the battle lol, whether there is validity in the complaint isnt for you to decide. its for the consumer, which in this case was not you.(MI wise)

yes Im aware things attenuate in value im no moron, but releasing two statues only to have the first be half off is a slap on the face to those who bought it right away thinking it would sell out (AND STILL IT HAS NOT)
so with your paradigm .. paleman, the ignorant suffer .. hazaa

and 9 months in terms of merch.. is new... in terms of computers and games.. its old... same with flys.. only living a few days..

so OLD is relative as is 99.9% of all things
yes the sam n max statue is new.. still... even in MOST eyes...
take sam n max as a whole... how old is the comic... now compare that to 9 months ago.. seems a bit .. new..

!!!oh and .. joesph of symbiote is just a kid... but a nice one... I spoke to him on the phone after paypal refused to even disclose info about his company without court documents. He agreed finally to refund my money if I sent back the statue. but this was a verbal contract, nothing written. so yeaaa

nice dude.. bad start for a company (shipping wise)

shipping is haaaaard to gain control of though.. so its best to learn to package properly !

You're still complaining about a buy one get one half off deal, which you have no right to complain about since you bought the statue early. If you want deals, don't buy right away. If something is included as part of a package deal, it's not the same as being discounted, and either way, 9 months is not new in any sense of the word. I think you'd have a hard time finding anything that isn't put into some kind of promotional deal or put on sale nine months after being released.

Your sense of entitlement is pretty ridiculous. Just because something goes on sale (not to mention a buy one get one sale that is inherently designed to encourage multiple purchases) at some point does not mean that the company is insulting you or that you deserve any money back.

here we go again about having no rights blah blah

stop this, im shocked you have not been modded.
you will argue like a mad man against a brick wall. You cant change my view.. stop trying. And dont EVER state people dont have the right to do X... or Y

I have every right to complain.. this is not illegal nor is it morally unjust.. could it be pointless .. sure, could it be a waste of time.. indeed.. but no right?

you have no tact and dont understand a thing im saying, and once again you make this PERSONAL, as if im the ONLY one who is complaining. see wallace n gromit and SB threads during the 20$ deal .. see what you ... see..

lastly did I say I wanted money back ? no ... you are again assuming and putting crup in my mouth. I said it felt shady and wrong, not that we need recompense.

get a life and stop hassling me ok? this wasnt directed AT YOU .. and you are now directing stuff AT ME.. which I find far more offensive than myself complaining about discounts..

so END OF LINE your code please..

mods... mod this up..

pale.. see you in a better thread where .. you might not attack me as much over views you just dont share with others.

I must've been very lucky when my Sam and Max statue arrived in perfect condition. Especially considering it had to travel all the way to the Netherlands.

How is having a buy one get one half off sale "shady"? I guess that makes every business in the history of the world "shady" so good luck finding a company that will never put anything on sale or into some promotional package.

I take that to mean you haven't yet found a company that refuses to put a product on sale more than nine months after you've purchased it.

Pale Man's right, though. Stuff drops in price. Merchandise drops in price. Especially if it's branded as "Collectible", in which case it almost certainly is not collectible in any meaningful in any real sense of the word, and I'm shocked it went nine months before having ANY sort of price drop. ESPECIALLY since this is in the form of a buy-one-get-one, so that people STILL pay a higher dollar amount for the statue even if the per-unit cost is lower.

FYI, Symbiote shipped me a replacement statue--not just the flawed Guybrush part, but the entire statue--for the low, low price of free. Good to see that they're willing to do the right thing.

I'm thinking of selling the flawed statue on eBay for $50. PM me if you're interested.
