I don't know what to think of it... sure it looks really REALLY good... but the story and dialogue of a Vampyre Story was pretty mediocre

Good writing to me, is much more important than the graphics

Bill Tiller is more of an artist than he's a writer, I think that's a fact.
He realized himself, though, that his first game was lacking quality - no matter how many "Gold Awards" he received for A Vampyre Story being the best adventure game of 2008.

I'm optimistic that GPOVI will show a lot of improvement in many aspects as Bill has learned from his mistakes. It hurts me to see that marketing for GPOVI turns out to be just as poor as AVS's was then. It deserves better.

So, rip off or not: I plan on purchasing Ghost Pirates after I finished TOMI - so I'll have some more pirates and voodoo to spend time with and won't be all that downhearted after the end of EP5 (I'm really anxious that in a month from now, I will have solved the last puzzle of EP5 and all the fun is over. Think I'm gonna cry! )

I was quite excited by Vooju at first. Bill Tiller is bound to bring a certain something to it. But he is but one man. The story just seems like generic rubbish to me; I hope i'm wrong!

LOL yea I was thinking about all the whine posts here about different translations and how it baffled people why TTG had not made every moon language available upon release.

Yeah, because English is the most commonly used language in the world(!), it's natural to make everything in this language!

... It's kinda nice to see a potentially popular game released in a foreign language first.

They will never say uber. Americans say uber, Germans say über. Sounds different too.

It's an American production, developed by a California-based studio of ex-LEC folk - it's the publisher that's German, therefore that country is the priority for release. Since the dialog was written in English in the first place, I doubt there need be any concern about the quality of the English "translation."

yes I bought it today - but didnt have time to play that much till now.
first there seem definitly not to be any english-voices or subs on the disc (a vampyre story had german and english voice acting and you could choose before installation - but that was another publisher)

Expect a closer look by me later today or tomorrow.

So let me get this straight, it's German voices? Are they going to dub in English? I've never played a subtitled game before.
source?

i have never heard / reading anything of this from of bill tiller
in interviews ect.

I want a demo before I start getting excited about this at all. Judging by the work they've put into the trailer, I don't have high hopes for the work they've put into the game.

You're all critics. AVS was a good game. A bit rough on the edges but a definitely boost to the genre. The characters were interesting, the environments were beautiful, the story was functional but by far the best and worse thing I've ever watched. The energy and music was set right and the game did not lack atmosphere.

My opinion of Vooju has nothing to do with AVS since I've never played it. My opinion is based solely on the advertising campaign for Vooju (or lack thereof).
