Out From Boneville Brutal Legend VS Uncharted 2 (PS3) Which would you choose?

Hey guys, many of you will know me for my Dom Armato interviews.

I have just done a faceoff on my site (Alternative Magazine Online) between Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend if you want to check it out!

http://alternativemagazineonline.co....brutal-legend/

I was wondering as well, which one are you choosing, or like me, will you cave in and just get both? Cheers!

I got both as well.

Yesterday I was finally able to play Brütal für a couple of hours, and it already rocks big time. BUT, today my "Uncharted 2" arrived, and now Eddie Riggs has to wait. I'll play it over my beamer tonight... yeah!

I got both as well, but there's no question which game is a bigger candidate for GOTY awards. Uncharted 2 is so much better than even the best games of this generation (regardless of genre), that it would take a miracle to see any game within the next two years to top this. Probably one of the best experiences I've ever had with a game.

I have to say... finished Uncharted this morning, and just played an hour of Brutal Legend.

I love them both, but Uncharted really has pushed the envelope. I am not saying either game is a let down. It is just that Uncharted 2 really has pushed the PS3 very far, and a multiplatform game like Brutal Legend is never going to have the same oomph factor.

I think Tim Schafer is a master story teller (I hhave a Grim Fandango tattoo so he'd better be!), gameplay wise though... not so sure. I loved his LucasArts work, but then again the controls were always simple. Brutal Legend works well, but Eddie is no Natan Drake. Felt wierd playing just after Uncharted 2 and not having a jump button|!

On the other hand, Naughty Dog are not as original story wise, although then again you could argue they are going for the type of story that emulates a Hollywood production, low on realism and big on explosions, so maybe they never intended to blow us all away with their narrative. Character wise, they succeeded however, as I really think Nathan Drake is awesome

I have already chosen: Brutal Legend.

I just feel Uncharted does nothing new aesthetically(aside from hyper-realism) and the gameplay is not particularly appealing. I shall pick it up at some point down the line when it is £20, but it was not a day one purchase for myself.

Brutal Legend is easily a competitor for my game of the year. The art-design is absolutely stunning and very deserving of the rewards it shall likely receive.

I picked Brutal Legend, because Uncharted is just a game, but Brutal Legend is legendary!

I'll probably get Uncharted 2 when I get a PS3. I'm not big on swearing in video games.

You can turn the swearing off in Brutal Legend

If that's bothering you, you got no balls!

It's really good, and you can turn it off.

Keep in mind it's MA15+, but it's not bad or anything, just really awesome. Not as bad as bioshock or anything like that.

Brutal Legend personally. Uncharted 1 was too much of a tomb raider clone with annoying combat added in(Yeah the graphics were good, but I can watch movies for realisticness), and generally sequels of games are usually like the first.

These two games couldn't be more different.
If you like an epic adventure, go buy Uncharted 2..
If you like an RPG-platformer with heavy metal comedy, go buy Brutal Legend!

Both games are pure excellence! =)

Platformer? Hardly a platformer when you can't even jump. Brütal Legend's an action-rpg with very basic RTS elements.

Both games are good, but Uncharted 2 outshine BL easily in almost every area.

Uncharted 2 all the way.

Seems the only people in this thread who aren't voting it are the ones who haven't played it.

The animation system in Uncharted is a technological wonder.

If Uncharted 2 is like Uncharted 1 (annoying combat overshadows the maybe good story - never saw it because the combat was after a few hours of gameplay a no-go for me) my answer is Brütal Legend.
It might be shorter (i think?) but it has more variety. Or at least it felt like it had more variety.

It's not.

You can use optional stealth a lot of the time to outright avoid firefights, and pretty much every shootout scene offers something different.

Plus much more going on puzzle and platforming-wise.

If that is true I might want to give this game another chance. But it never seemed to me that you can use stealth to pass by.

I think I played very far into the game and besides simple "Go there and climb there" action, there was nothing worth mentioning.

Got Uncharted 2, did it in 2 days, took it back to the shop, and got Brutal Legend for a total of 2 Euros. Uncharted was good, but not enough for me to want to play again, or play multi. Brutal Legend kicks ass!
