Default De Singe's experiments

I couldn't find a fitting thread, so I'll just make a new one and start it off with a thought that struck my mind when I replayed "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal".

When asked about how he landed on Flotsam Island, the Marquis De Singe answers that he was exiled by King Louis after he conducted "breeding experiments with the Queen's poodles".

Piranha Poodles, anyone?

I love the idea, since piranha poodles already appeared in the very first Monkey Island game, so this is just a subtle hint, but still it could mean that De Singe was actually the "father" of the piranha poodle race.

I wonder what other experiments by De Singe might have a deeper meaning in the MI universe.

I honestly assumed that's what they meant and saw it as a slightly veiled in-joke. It was funny, I laughed, and forgot about it.

Ditto that. It seemed a blatant reference.

You know, that makes that joke much funnier and much less disturbing then what I was envisioning.
